Girsan Regard Thread

Anyone by a blued Girsan full size from Can Am? - the picture on the web site shows a pistol with no finger grooves and tapered dust cover, the only ones I've seen are grooved/railed - is the picture correct, or not????

You were saying all kinds of stuff about that pistol without even firing that gun, so take it easy from now on expert.

Yah that trev82 is driving me crazy.....

EDIT: Saw some people searching CGN and asking questions about holster. Just to clear things up, holsters for the Beretta 92 fit perfectly. I have the BladeTech DOH Beretta 92 holster and it is amazing.

Haha, good way to get post count up, keep posting replies instead of just editing one post to add more thoughts.

dont think he has found the 'Edit Post' button yet.

Also here is a video from this weekend with my Girsan.
Take it easy on the guy it was his first time shooting EVER! He did a great job.

It's neat to see a familiar place in the video. You should have come out this weekend to at least watch us playing in the mud. The match was well attended and nicely set up as usual.

I was out Saturday and watched some matches that were going on.

Saw Alex there, didn't see your truck, maybe you were in something else or you were only shooting on Sunday?

Either way it was a great setup, didn't realize there were newer action ranges down the left for IPSC matches, all looked good down there! But yes quite muddy with all the recent work done at Silverdale Gun Club.

I shot yesterday. No rain but pretty muddy. They will lay down wood chips and eventually grass so we will have four good action ranges and be able to run level three IPSC matches.

Getting six stages on two ranges is quite a trick. That long stage was a brain tester with so many limited shooting positions and very important reloads. It was a lot of fun yesterday with a good crowd. Get that Black Badge ASAP and get out for the fun!! I'll be in touch for a practice date.

now that I have shot the Girsan I can say its a good shooting gun . Have you shot a Girsan ? if not you got no say sorry man .

Now I'm just guessing, but I'd say Nestor has been exposed to a few different makes/models of handguns. Most of his comment have been thoughtful and reserved (and the ones that may not fit that description are probably due to his not unreasonable irritation). Judging by your reply's you seem to be taking this a little personal, it couldn't hurt to keep some of your thoughts to yourself. As for it being a good shooting gun, so far so good, time will tell if it's as good as the Pistol it was cloned from.

This thread needs to be cleaned up....

Yes it does...

As much as I like it my Girsan it's a turd beside my 639 and 659...

Did I just say I liked a turd...

I picked up a Blackhawk CQB Serpa holster for a Beretta 92 and it works real slick with my full size Girsan (no rail).

Look like good holsters!

I guess I should clear it up, mine is also the full sized version with no rail. I'm sure the railed version would still work fine without an attachment. No idea on the compact versions.

Good advice. He's just hit the school yard and wants to play with the big kids. He will learn. Sadly, gun forums are not the way to learn speeling and gramer or for that matter even good manners.

Thank you for the link! was a very interesting and helpful read.

In that thread as well, Nestor made some excellent points about waiting this out to see how these Girsan firearms end up thousands of rounds down the road. Seemed that trev82 thinks he is being attacked by Nestor everytime he posts.. Seems like trev82 based most of his beliefs off how the firearm felt in his hands, not personal experience of firing thousands of rounds..

+1 to Nestor for staying calm and logical.

UPDATE ON MY GIRSAN - I have 1,000 rounds of American Eagle 115, 124 and 147 grain (Flat Point) FMJ ammo through my handgun.
Have had 2 malfunctions.
First one the casing was ejected but got stuck sideways in the slide, new round cycled but slide could not close due to casing being in the way.
Second one was Failure To Eject, slide locked open, casing remained half pulled out of the chamber, magazine still half full.

These both took place well spread out in the 1000 round count.
Firearm was cleaned well after every range day. Not a big concern, both malfunctions took place with the 115 Grain ammo.

Just keeping you posted on my experience.

Could be an angle of the camera, but the back of the grip on your pistol reminds me the old Beretta Vertec a bit, instead of regular model.
