Nothing wrong with a well made copy and you've done well with the Girsan and Norinco. Don't let few naysayers dissuade you. Unless you want to use it as a showpiece nothing wrong with them.

I've had a Girsan and they're excellent. Same factory Beretta used in Turkey. I have a Norinco 1911 and for the money spent I'm loving it.

For fun at the range they're hard to beat.

Thank you for understanding. I work with what I can afford. I'm sure there are alot in the same boat. I won't live beyond my means, not even for a gun. I shoot because I love it, have since I was 14 years old, and I shoot with the same group of guys every Wednesday. They have Kimbers, Wilson Combat, Sigs, CZ, Les Baer, and I have my Girsan, Sam and Norinco, and none of them look down on me. But lest you think I'm totally classless, I do have a beautiful Ruger MKIII Target stainless. Does that redeem me. LOL. My guns my be crappy clones, but they sure are pretty. They get noticed at any range I've shot at.

I can shoot 1- 1 1/2 " groups at 20yrds. with all three of these, spending more money wouldn't have made that any better.

So a molded plastic & stamped steel Glock... that the manufacturer can produce for less then $100 US retails for $600 here is the cats ass, but a complex fully CNC machined pistol made in Turkey that takes a lot of skill to manufacture and retails for $450 here is a total piece of #### just cuz its made in Turkey?
You know that Turkey has been a member of NATO since 1952.....guess when Austria joined up?

I have fired a few Beretta 92s and shoot a Gen 3 G17.

I find the grip on the 92s bulky for my medium sized hands, even in comparison to my G17.

I also do not do well with the DA SA trigger transition from 1st to subsequent shots with the 92. I suspect that that would improve with more practice.

The plastic gun will keep on ticking long after the metal one quits. Glock slides are not stamped. Google Chuck Taylor sometime if you are bored.

A glock is the cats azz because you can but a used one cheap and it works and works and works. Parts are cheap, readily available and anyone with the smallest amount of brain matter can replace all the parts themselves.

Turkey being in NATO has everything to do with the US not wanting them to be under Russian control. Not sure what that has to do with Turkey making 92 copies.

Before I bought my revolver I was asking the same question. I was this close.....oh yea you cant see my hands but there close beleive me
. I was going with the girsan because of the price point and I wouldnt be using it for anything other then plinking and the girsan felt better in my hands.

OK so I thought I would pitch in here. I own an m&p 40 gsg 1911 22. A Glock 17 gen 4 and a girsan full sized. Anyone that says parts aren't easy to find. Wrong. Ordered grips and hammer spring from Brownells took 1 week. Ordered Glock trigger and mag base plates.2.5 weeks from rock your Glock. I found that both guns are easy to find parts for. Glock has pink parts for my girlfriend. Girsan doesn't have colored stuff. But the girsan has ###y grips and looks amazing. The Glock is pretty much a colored fancy block. Shooting wise. Glock trigger won for me. Even the factory one. But I shoot tighter groups with the girsan. Comparing the girsan to a real Beretta. I got sometime with both side by side. Beretta had a slightly nicer trigger. Girsan felt smoother and nicer to shoot. But the differences were so small I would say it's really just a name stamped on and what people like to say about name brands. Does it matter if I wear areopostel or sears brand? Beretta or girsan. Found it to be a name. Overall if it came down to shooting either my girsan or Glock. Glock is fun to show off its trigger girsan is there to say, look I can shoot well

Sorry, to easy, can't do it. I'm sure you mean well and are just trying to give the OP the most accurate info possible, but unless you have shot a Girsan, you really cannot give an accurate, "unbiased" opinion. Would you want your decision on a car to be based on a review written by someone who never drove that car. Would you want to spend your hard earned money eating at a Chinese restaurant based on a review written by someone who never at there, but gave it a bad review because he was prejudice against Chinese. Nothing wrong with offering your opinion, but you cannot formulate a proper opinion with only half of the equation. You cannot compare an apple with an orange if you have only tried the apple, and pick the apple because you hate the sunshine state. Sorry, that was the best analogy I could come up with.

Ok thank you for your feedback. I ordered both Glock and Girsan. I wasn't going to order Glock at full price but since it was a good deal, i decided to get that as well. I would've felt guilty if i only bought one but the reviews here made me get both. Can't wait to shoot my first ever pistols

My 1911 copies are SIGS. They are not made in Turkey or China and do not cost a third or half of a real one.

Didn't you once ask what the best 9mm Chinese copy was? Is there a cheap Norinco 1911 hiding in your closet. LOL. Hey, that would be a good thing for you. It would mean your opinion is based on fact, not unsubstantiated claims.

Girsans... Now I had never shot a beretta or a girsan or even held one before I bought one. Bought a railed stainless compact solely based on looks and reviews, it is a ###y beast and it definitely knows it. Its the gun you want to show off to your friends a gun that makes all your old guns jealous.
I found it to be quite accurate and easy to get used to i would say that after 3 mags i was getting 7 out of 10 head shots on zombie targets at 25 feet. I am not going to lie i find the double action awkward but that is probably because I have shorter fingers so i just use it in single action...

(albeit i blew it up on my first range trip due to a bad reload... Still its awesome! And i cant wait for it to be fixed)
The Girsan is a great gun and if mine was not repairable i would of bought another.

Glocks... I have only shot a glock once, i thought it was ugly and utilitarian it definitely is purpose built. That purpose to be an awesome all around gun, a no frills get the job done piece of awesome.
I put 5 rounds through a fellow club members G17, i picked it up an it felt good (like dirty good) i squeezed the trigger... BOOOM HEADSHOT... I was so impressed there was no learning curve simply point and click i only missed once and i did not miss by much (again zombie targets at 25 feet).

I wanted a glock right then and now... Though i never made the purchase.
(mind you a bad reload i imagine would blow the plastic to smithereens)

Since i have bought my wife a m&p22 and man after gripping and shooting that i literally said f###k the glock next ones a mp9.

Moral of the story buy both or one now then the other later, if the glock is a good deal now id buy it first because i bet that the girsan is always going to be a good deal.

Besides like lays chips i bet you can't have just one.

I prefer apples primarily because my fingers get irritated when i peel oranges but there is also a level of convenience of being able to pick up an apple rub it on your shirt and take a bite... Oranges you have to peel or slice and the juice gets everywhere, the juice is quite sticky and I'm not a fan of sticky... Sticky, inconvenient and finger irritation are the major detractors for the orange.

Unless we are talkin mandarins those little oranges are delicious and all bets are off.

Im just going to start consistently wearing my safety glasses... There is nothing wrong with a little attention. I just hope we are talking a leather suit not latex... I would assume that the hot brass would seriously F### up a latex body suit...

Now that the OP has done the right thing and bought both guns, I also look forward to a candid review of both guns.
I have to admit that I took a long time thinking about a Beretta 92 type gun,I really like the way they look but they always seemed kind of expensive and the grips felt bloated in my hand. A used M9 showed up at my local gun store at a decent price so I bought it and don't regret it, the grips and the DA trigger work well together and the groups are pretty good.
Haven't shot a Glock yet...maybe a bit nervous because if I like it I will have to buy one.
