Hey guys,
My first handgun was this G17 gen 3 and I have had reliability problems since I first owned it. So not knowing anything then, I bought this thing knowing full well it had been pieced together. The guy I bought it from put a G22 frame on a 17 slide assembly. It didn't work very well when I first bought it because he left all the G22 parts in the lower however he took it back and fixed the problem.....kinda. I was getting 1 ftf every 100 rounds when it was "fixed", now im getting 1 every mag and that's if I'm lucky. What it's doing is not locking fully back into battery but even when it does sometimes the trigger spur falls off the hammer spur and slips. When it doesn't return to battery usually a good hit to the back of the slide fixes it
but even then it can look complete fine but misfire. The trigger feels like it is pulling back the firing pin because I feel the spring tension, then all of a sudden it feels like it slips off and the trigger goes completely lump. If you eject the round, 95% of the time it has a light primer strike on it. One range session a few months ago I just kept putting the round back in to see how many times it would take for it to go off, the answer is 3 and all the primer strikes were in a different spot on the primer. Ammo is not the problem as I have tried everything imaginable and it has not fixed it. What's your thoughts?
Thanks
