GLOCK 17, SIG P226, BERETTA 92FS Three great sidearms. But which to purchase.

I had a similar dilemma as the OP. First I went to the west Edmonton mall and tried a bunch of 9mm handguns. Among the list was the sig and beretta no glock. I liked the cz75 the most I didn't find the rest that different from each other.
Today I have 3 norinco 9mms. An np22 or sig 226 knockoff, an np29 or 1911 version and a nz85 or cz85 knockoff. Without a doubt the skinny grip np29 is my favorite and is very accurate for me. The nz85 is almost tied with the np29. I love the blue quality on this one. The alloy framed np22 is my last favorite due mostly to its light weight and more muzzle flip over the steel framed guns. But it has a rail and the potential for a laser sight. If I ever decide to get more serious about handguns I suppose I will upgrade to a real cz.. but till then I am sticking to my norcs.
If you do decide to go my route, buy from a sellor that will replace a defective one such as Marstar. One reason that some folks hate norincos is they sell the odd lemon. One friend loved shooting my np29 ordered his own but was disappointed it is inferior to mine. Oh yeah, hogue finger groove grips are a necessary upgrade.

Any of the three would be an excellent choice! It all depends what pistol fits your hand properly.

I'm personally a fan of striker fired pistols like the Glock and M&P series. So from your list I would grab a glock, then the sig and beretta!

Good luck!

As most everyone has said above - get out and try the guns first.

The first handgun I bought was a the 92-FS, back in 1989 - it was also the first handgun I sold ;) I took it into the Ottawa Police station in its box (oh the joys before trigger locks and ghey mag limits). The grip was too fat for me, and the trigger reach in DA was tough. I sold it to a buddy in the Army turned Ottawa Police officer ~1994.
They are accurate (5" barrel and long sight radius as well as the barrel lockup) but it just was not the gun for me.

I would also look at the S&W M&P series guns if I was you, but most importantly - go out and shoot a few different guns --- aim for 50rds thru each or so to get an idea of what you like or don't like about them.
