GLOCK 17 vs 19 worth having both?

Lol, with your mile long bore axis and $80 mags?

Plus sigs don't have no where near the availability in parts as a glock.

Yeah thats a big reason Im playing with the Glocks right now, I love the aftermarket availability and modding available for them......I plan to get into the other brands like H&K or SIG later one.....

Funny thing there was a plain clothing police officer in the store when I was buying the GLOCK, I went with the intent of buying a GLOCK but people at the store suggested I look at others. I told them I have $1000-2000 with me to spend so they said why not look at SIG etc and I did.. And I liked the quality but it seems everything is already done, the parts are all already billet the slide is already machined nicely etc etc so there isnt much to be done to them....And then the cop jumped in, hes likes its your first gun get a GLOCK, I have a 22 but we (police) need the stopping power....He said he also shoots comp and training shoots and people bring guns like SIG etc, he said drop that SIG or HK in the sand and its done...Hes like wash the GLOCK in sand and it will out live all of us in this store...lol Good salesman

I also asked all the sales people and 2 out of 3 owned 17's so it seems to be a staple in most peoples collections...

LOL

I guess that's why the FBI went back to 9mm, the awesomeness of .40 was too much
Or why SIG and HK are actually SOCOM Mk pistols (Mk25 for the P226R, and Mk24 Mod0 for the HK45C) and the Glock does not have one...

I have shot my friend's 26? and the magazine pinches my finger while firing since my grip extends onto where the mag and grip meet. I do not over overly large hands. I have a G17 and also benefit from the longer site radius and absence of pinched fingers. The 19's I've shot have been nifty but not worth it compared to a 17. Especially with the exclusive range duty we see in Canada. I understand why Americans favour the 19 but none of those pro's hold true for Canadians.

Stick with your G17 and use those funds to experience a different firearm, like a S&W 686, which is what I am currently eye-ing ;)

If you're pinching a finger you're gripping the gun wrong as their are only 2 finger grooves on a 26/27. Your finky should be folded under the bottom of the magazine.

As for sight radius, that's a gimmicky excuse for poor fundamentals. I as well as others shoot my 26 as well as my 17. Proper sight alignment/sight picture is proper sight alignment/sight picture. The 1" and change difference in sight radius isn't noticeable. Here's a trick question. If sight radius is important why are we able to shoot so well with reddots or magnified optics where we use a single aiming point? And what about single beads on a shotgun??

This is the same story I have heard as well. Reliability. I was considering the G34 with the long slide. Mainly for IPSC. They have a lot of Sig at that store.

I had to mod my Glock 17 Gen 4 frame, I've not held a 19, but even if it's great, I can't see myself buying one. :/

How did you modify yours? I have been looking at grip mods and stippling. I cant find anywhere local that offers stippling, so I might start practicing on the extra back straps and build up the courage to try it myself lol

I'd like to try a Bubba One-Seven.

In other words, a G17 with a frame cut to 19 dimensions (business in the front and party in the back)....best of both worlds.

I may cut my 17 down one day.....

OP let me know when you want to try the 19 and i can help you. Gen 3 only as they fit better my hand, had the 4s and sold them.
