GLOCK 17 vs 19 worth having both?

I have both and love them both...... But I really like Glock

OK OK now were talking a guy with GLOCK in his screen name! Now let me ask you if you had to choose one, which one would it be? LOL Also since you a GLOCK fan what other Glocks do you own? And order you bought them in? LOL I feel like Im asking ASL on a dating site?

Keep in mind, if you get a 19, the 17 probably will never make it back to the shooting range ever again - so you can go ahead and sell it. That has been my experience, and of most the guys I shoot with that bought 19's. The 17 feels like you are shooting a cordless drill after having shot a 19. Everybody tries to justify what they have, but 19's rock. I would never even consider a 17, 22, etc. at this point in my shooting career. 19/23 is the only way to go.

Keep it green! (Which unfortunately is almost impossible these days, but black is cool too!)

I prefer 19's to 17's - mainly as the slightly different grip angle is less horrible on the 19 than the 17.

However in Canada with land of no CCW and retarded barrel length laws, the 17 is an easier choice, especially now with the Grip Force adaptors and the Gen4 backstraps.

As far as having both -- you have a really modified 17 based on your posts -- you may want to try a stock 17 before anything else.

I don't have a G17..... but I would go for the G19.

I do have a G22 [with 9mm conversion barrel] and a G23 which would be comparable to owning both a G17 & G19 [for frame size] & am happy with both.

Nothing wrong with having both if that's what floats your boat.

Dunno. I just got a G34 for my first Glock and I really like it. I'm debating a G41, or perhaps a 21 (so I can go 10mm if I wish), but the 9mm is fun in such a light pistol and I already have a nice 1911 and JR in 45, so not sure I need a second glock.

But I know I'd never buy a second one in the same chambering. Seems like a waste, for me anyway. But then I'm not doing the sorts of mods that you are, so maybe you want a plain jane gun to go with your space gun? Nothing wrong with that, IMO. I'm debating buying a Remington R1 or Colt Series 70 Government just to have a GI type 1911 to go with my Ruger SR1911 with the bells n whistles.

I have 17's and handled a 19. The grip felt a bit too small for my taste, I have long fingers but small hands and the 19 feels weird. So I guess is personal taste. I would not mind having a 19 though, it bothers me that we can't have the original Glock barrel as I consider the lone wolf barrel a downgrade...So just for that reason alone, though, I would choose 17.

I much prefer my 19 to my 17. The 17 is OK, but the 19 seems to "fit" so much better. When you understand how little actual difference there is between the 2, I don't know how if can feel so much better, but it does.

Who are you ordering ur slide thru, most vendors i contact wont ship a slide or barrel to Canada

I order direct from ZEV but IRUNGUNS will be exporting for me, ZEV is only able to ship up to $500 outside the USA. So you have to use a export broker, my parts will be shipped to IRUNGUNS I pay their $200 fee and they will get the export docs and repackage and ship to me in Canada

You can get them with a factory glock threaded barrel, one of the ones I am looking at buying has that OEM threaded barrel

I dont really mind as I will be replacing it with a custom machined ZEV/KKM barrel anyways....And it wont look so weird sticking out the front of the gun like the lone wolf because KKM will make the barrel for me exactly 105mm long just to pass canadian law where as the lone wolfs are like 106-107mm or even longer
