Glock 48 (vs 19, 19X, 17)

Installed a ghost pro connector on my G48 over the weekend. Haven't fired it yet but it's a bit smoother and a lighter 2.5-3 lb pull now.

Pretty sure this one's going to be a keeper, fits nicer in my hands than the G19 Gen4 I had previously. Already got the slide cerakoted black too so I have no regrets seeing the new black G48 coming soon.

I’ve been working my 48 hard since I got it; just passed the 6000 round mark. I loved the gun from the start, but wanted a bit more grippiness. I found a new gunsmith quite close to me, who is also doing stippling, frame work, milling, etc. So I took it i and had him stipple it.
Turned out great, and the improvement in grip is Huge! Much more comfortable for long range sessions, and it looks good too. I’mounted a TLR 6 light/laser, and although the lights pretty anemic at 100 lumens, it’s adequate. Laser is nice for snap shooting, holds zero perfectly.
Vedder holsters started producing an OWB holster for the 48 with a TLR6 mounted, so I ordered one, paddle style. It came last week, really happy with it. Retention is good, it’s pretty slim line for a paddle rig. Molded in sight track, so if you’ve got suppressor height sights mounted, they are accommodated. Overall, it’s very comfortable to wear; it’s a light gun, light holster, after a few hours at the range you can’t even feel it anymore

How do you find the triggers on the 48? Are they standard Glock or have they made improvements?

I’m torn, I can get a Walther P series, Canik Tactical Elite or a HK VP9 that have great triggers but might be too big for me, or a G48, which will likely fit me, but have a sucky trigger.

In the same page as OP, I have G17 Gen4 (with red dot), G19X, and now G48(replaced fibre optic sights to factory plastic ones). Love G48 most, only downside it's not friendly to lefties, but it is definitly a keeper. May order a Talon grip for it. Shoot it in Summer with my wet hands is kinda slippery.

I bought two of the 48s for the club to add to our collection and give our people more options for guns they can try out. I have to say, I think when the black ones come out I'll add one to my collection. I quite like the little gun, if we were allowed to carry it and the 19 I have would be in full rotation I think. If someone were to offer a 48 Tungsten embedded frame like SIG is doing with the 320s I think that would be awesome, the 48 is a little snappier due to it's light frame weight, so a heavier frame, in the same size would rock.

the Walthers/Canik are gonna be easily twice as thick as the G48 and id assume the HK would be right along with that.
i dont like fat pistols and i find those to be very fat in the hand, comfy - yes but fat.
glocks a little less so.
but the G48 is way thinner and thus smaller in the hand than any of those you listed.

so you will need to decided between the trigger and the smaller size.

For years I avoided Glocks and I own multiple HK's and Walthers. With the Glock 48 I realized how much I hate the Pinocchio barrels and neutered magazines we have to suffer in Canada. I will be liquidating my "fat guns" and buying a Glock 48.

I vowed to never buy a Pinocchio gun. The mags I can live with because I can throw them out and get regular capacity mags if we ever become a free country.

I am a M&P guy but want to have a Glock in the safe one day. Just can't decide which one as per the reasons stated in this thread.

My local range (Silverdale) will be having a Glock Day on August 31. Looking forward to it as I can try all the models out. Holding one in the store is one thing, actually getting a chance to compare at the range should help seal the deal.
