Glock 48 - What do you think

Hello fellow CGNer's, I've been shooting mostly 1911's, P220's, CZ75's, you know.. Heavy steel guns with large calibers and managed recoil.

Now a bunch of years back, I experimented with a couple glock 17's, I Gen 2, and Gen 3 and I found the recoil to be all over the place, mostly because the double stack magazine didn't allow me to grab it properly, and I didn't care for the ergonomics, I also tried an M&P, and a USP, both of which seemed to jump around like crazy, I believe the USP was in 40 S&W.

To my surprise, I bought a Glock 44 in .22 and it is a blast, it feels good in my hand, I'm putting holes in paper and I know it's a .22 with barely any recoil and a cute little pop.

So I started looking and Glock makes a single stack, beaver tailed G48 in 9mm with a 10 round mag, any input? I know the sights aren't the greatest and I'd obviously change those right away.

Let me know!

I own a bunch of Glocks and the G48 is my favorite. It's such a natural pointer It's almost boring to shoot (wildly accurate). As a matter of fact, I like the G48 so much I have entertained the unthinkable, selling my other 9mm Glocks cause they're just sitting in the safe. I never take them to the range anymore.

I have CZ and Sig and my 22lr upper for my P226 is absolute pure fun to shoot ! I have a gen 5 17 and looked at the 48 but if you wear a large glove your going to have your pinky finger dangling below the grip on the 48 that was my turn off for it. For me personally I would have to track down those +1 extensions for the magazines to get rid of the pinky dangle to make it something I would be interested in. For smaller shooters its a great choice. Its a glock tho just smaller then the 17 so that is the only real difference.
The glocks that come with ameriglo sights tho rock I like them so much for my gen 5 17 that I picked up a set for my P226 ! Glocks with the ameriglo sights are the version you want to look for and the 48 comes with them ! Here is a link with a nice photo of the ameriglo sights

No. I think you're thinking about the G43 frame. The G48 will easily accommodate a full hand grip.

When it comes to a choice of G17, G19, or G48, I think it comes down to (the individual's) hand size.

I bought one for my wife who has small hands. It fits her well, though it is a little bit snappy. I got the MOS, and added a Talon Pro grip. Itdoes suffer from a heavy, horrible (typical Glock) trigger, but there will be some upgrades to come. I also find that the slide release is too small, and it would benefit from an aftermarket extended release. The glock sites are terrible but my wide doesn't mind them. They'll be replaced eventually also.

All that said, I'm planning to upgrade it rather than sell it.

I have tiny hands. Here's my airsoft G48 mos.
Waiting for 507K mount adapter to go back in stock. Come on FOC!!!!! :ang

I watched the Hickok45 with his son, and he said it does seem to want to go more left because it is smaller, and then he proceeded to miss the same targets with the G19. I think my boat is sold, so I'll be ordering it next week. You guys rock.

Hand size may have something to do with it. For argument's sake, I'm going to say that it has more to do with how your particular hand tolerates the Glock Hump. 17 vs 19 vs 26 vs 48 all differ in this regard.

OK, I'll try this one more time:"The width of the magazines is almost identical!"

Your point appears to be totally pointless. The G48 is significantly slimmer than traditional double stack Glocks, and that’s the only thing that matters in this regard. Literally no one is making a purchase decision based on magazine width.

His point is that the capacity could be 50% higher. Pointless to Canadians who follow mag restrictions but it's definitely relevant to many people otherwise.

Just stating a fact, dude. It's not a single stack, one look at a loaded clip could convince you.

It matters in the states where you can get 15 rd. flush fit for the 48.

Grip circumference tells the story, the G48 measures in at 5” and a G17 measures in at 5 5/8” - believe me, 5/8” is huge.

I’d say that the G48 is likely the best 9mm with a 10 round capacity available in Canada for people who wear a medium or smaller glove, just on trigger reach and grip circumference alone. The trigger is a Glock trigger so that sucks, but it’s good for a Glock trigger and it can be overcome.

I have one and like it for the role of of a small pistol but for a range gun I find it considerably harder to shoot than a full size gun like a 17, M&P, 320, etc. I have quite large hands.

The 48 is my only Glock and my only “plastic” pistol and I really like shooting mine .
Had it pretty much fully customized at Black Box and it has the Sentry red dot on it . I like that its light and compact , yes there’s a wee bit more recoil then , say , my Sig , but it’s not too much more . Put an apex trigger in it so that not great Glock trigger is gone .
I really enjoy shooting it and have had no mechanical problems whatsoever thus far .

My g48 has ameriglo night sights which are pretty good. Like it because of the compact size but not the most enjoyable gun to shoot if I'm being honest. I'd much rather shot my glock 17
