HK fan, I think we are saying the same thing. It all comes down to reloading used cases, that have been fired in a Glock, to max levels. If you reload used Glock cases for mid range loads you will probably be fine. Regards, Richard:D

Agreed.

I think that Glock fixed the unsupported chamber of their 40's. I had a brand new G22 in my hands a few weeks ago and took the barrel out and put a round in it to see how much of the round was visible, surprisignly, not much, and way less than on older G22s.

That would be a Gen III?

another Glock oddity I read about on some LEO forums. The Glocks .40cals with the rails worked fine until they put lights on them and then they had a lot of stoppages. Seems from their investigation that the light was preventing the frame from twisting/moving during recoil and this was binding the slide. Apparently Glock was a first reluctant to admit the problem, but has now promised a fix.

I have seen a 1911 with a double target load of 231 in an indoor range, not a KB but boy was it loud and the brass looked like it came out of a Glock in 40 S&W.

It musta been a light target load! most doubles would blow the case big time!

ALL GUNS CAN HAVE THE CHANCE OF GOING KABOOM, the are machined pieces of metal and formed plastics, they are subject to human error and material differences. I have seen a winchester bolt gun, AR upper, Glock, remington 870, Beretta 96 fail...so it isn't just one brand.

Boltgun

And yes have seen a Glock .40 go all blowed up. Was behind the shooter at BRRC during a PPC? match when it happened.

If that is you, plz post more details. Was several years ago.

Glock in 9mm yes!!!
Glock in .40cal or .45acp? No thank you

I'd modify that statement slightly. I don't think the .45 should be lumped in with the .40 as the pressure in the .45 is much lower. Never had any problems with the G21. No bulges on my brass.

I recall reading an interview with Dale Rhea in which he blamed most Glock .40 kabooms on guys loading really hot rounds to make major power with ease. Doing so would compromise the probably minimal tolerance for excess pressure designed into the gun. As someone pointed out, the .40 is not really engineered any stronger than the 9mm.

...if you need full power buy factory ammo...

I believe this to be the best advice to avoid kabooms in the Glock. Rupzuk knows his Glocks, all the suggestions he posted are right on...

Peckerwood , I love your video .
Internet's a great tool .
Hmmm...
The steel slide explodes but the polymer frame is fine ???
Wrong trigger guard .
But nicely staged , good effect .lol

It was, we had a really low maximum power rating for our range due to the thickness or should I say thinness of the backstop steel.

Well I just got my Glock 22 and I am going to the range in 30mins to fire it for the first time. I am really hoping it doesn't KB on me, but I only shoot factory ammo and it's a generation 3.5 so I am really not too worried. Guess if it does I will post some pics.

LOL! That's OK I got it done just fine. I went down and fired 200 rounds and it worked perfectly everytime, I think. Does anyone know with a Glock when you put in a loaded mag when the slide is back does it automatically then move the slide forward hence loading a round? Mine did it only when I really put the mag in hard, if I just slid it in nicely it didn't seem to want to do it. Other then that worked flawlessly. No bulges or anything. Used only factory ammo too, American Eagle stuff.
