I have a Glock 17 Gen4 that is having issues with the recoil spring. This was subject to a recall and I contacted Glock USA. They responded immediately and informed me I need the updated part # 8284. Unfortunately they do not ship to Canada so they advised me to contact Glock Canada, in particular James Cassells; the Canadian sales manager. I have sent him several emails and left messages to no avail. Anyone have any idea how to contact Glock Canada?

You may not want to hear this but it might be easier/less headache for you to replace it out of pocket.

P.S. Good luck with Glock Canada, let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I am going to add Glock to my black list of firearms companies with below par service.
Any suggestions where I can buy a replacement spring and get decent service?

PM inbound.

I have dealt with James before. He can be slow to respond sometimes because he deals with all of Canada.......but he will likely take care of you. Beyond you satisfaction.

I acted as an inbetween for some guys I know that have VERY VERY VERY high round count glocks that started to have issues with slides cracking (recoil springs had not been replaced.........ever? lol). All the guys who were original owners got new slides.....FREE (minus the cost of shipping the old ones in). The one owner whose gun was second hand only paid $100.

He's also sent me free parts when no one in Canada had them in stock.

do not put on black list but learn to deal with little parts on your own. glock is great but a small fish in an ocean is hard to get all attention for sure.

Agree with what’s been said. It can take time to get ahold of him, but that’s really no different than almost any senior rep. With any company. He has a LOT on his plate, but once he gets to you, he’ll get things sorted out to your satisfaction, quickly. I had a situation a couple years ago that I needed him to intervene in, and it took a few months to even hear from him. Once I did, the issue was resolved immediately

James is a great guy and will look after you. Like others have stated he is very busy BUT he will go above and beyond to make things right for you. Unfortunately in Canada dealing with any gun manufacturer is a lot more difficult than in the states.

.............. it took a few months to even hear from him..........the issue was resolved immediately

^..a perfect oxymoron....but sounds about right

Anyhow glad your issue was resolved....not like Glock don't have the resources with records sales in the books..."Glock Canada Sales Rise to Annual Record............"

I once bought a brand new Glock 48 with Ameriglo sights from a certain retailer.
It came in with crooked sights. Front wasn't centered and rear was off to the right.

I messaged the retailer and got told to piss off because, and I quote here: "The biggest thing to keep in mind is that Glocks are designed as combat pistols" and "They are very accurate and reliable but having a sight slightly off won't affect your groupings to anything noticeable.".

I then proceeded to message Glock US asking them how normal it is and included a picture of the retailer's reply.
3 hours later, James Cassells, from Glock Canada, emailed me back as Glock US transferred him my email and it had to be dealt with immediately.
He asked me how the gun shot, if I wanted to completely return it to the retailer or have them simply adjust the sights. I pointed that I shouldn't be paying for shipping, as the retailer intended. Also asked for my infos to send me quite a bit of Glock swag.

A week later, I was contacted by the retailer for a complete exchange, RMA included, and given a free mag on top.

New pistol came in, made in Austria instead of USA (personal preference here) and with straight sights.

James, if you are reading this, thank you.

Agree; he is very good, but needs several more regional reps. He’s a glutton for punishment; he’s been pretty much a run off his feet, one man show for a long time. I had an issue a couple years ago with a special order pistol. The store wouldn’t even try to contact them after waiting a couple months; I’m not patient enough for that. I tracked down the contact info, sent several emails with no reply,, then someone gave me a cell number. I called it and went. Straight to voicemail, so I left one, saying I would call four times a day until I got a call back since I’d sent that many emails without reply.
He called me the next morning, had the issue dealt with in an hour, and my gun arrived before the end of that week
