Glock Trigger Question

If all you shoot is Glocks you'll think its the best trigger in the world...

My G22 is getting some non-cosmetic surgery this week thanks to brownells.

If you're basing a pistols capabilities off the feel of the trigger you clearly haven't grasped the fundamentals of handgun marksmanship.

Nice rims and a spoiler doesn't make it a race car.

I was speaking of the pistol's trigger not the gun's capabilities (hence the title of the thread)

Are you the self declared defender of the down-trodden Glock? They are good guns that are super reliable with so-so stock triggers that can be improved with work.

I will attempt to grasp handgun marksmanship but feel I will be unable due to my trigger finger being so sore from using my Glock...:stirthepot2:

To attempt to keep this thread on topic-- I am looking at installing a NY trigger, 3.5 connector and the .25 trigger job- has anyone measured trigger pull post these mods? And are there any differences with the NY triggers or are they all the same? Brownell's shows 2 but is sold out of one of them.

I'm also planning the exact same mods you are to my Glock and am excited to see/feel the difference between it and the stock Glock. The olive NY(1) trigger spring has an 8lb pull and the orange NY(2) has a 12lb pull. Replacing the stock trigger spring with the NY trigger spring is supposed to make the trigger crisper or something along those lines.

There's an interesting article regarding the Glock trigger pull weights by Massad Ayoob that might answer your question too: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0BQY/is_11_50/ai_n6209982/

Again, your concern with modifying a stock pistol clearly illustrates your belief that the gun is to blame for poor performance, not the shooter. The guns capabilities are fixed by design. Ones performance is ones ability to tap into the capabilities of the gun. Changing sh*t on a firearm does not improve its "performance", said changes are intended to improve the shooters performance.

I'm not saying that the trigger on a Glock is the best available as clearly it is not. What I am saying is that the stock trigger on a Glock is more than adequate for both competition and duty.

As for a sore finger from Glock triggers? I really hope you're being sarcastic. A 5.5 lbs trigger pull is rather light and the length of travel (1/2 inch) is nothing to complain about either. You are working the reset right?

As clearly as it was my comment was reffered to bollox, I just forgot to post a quote on the comment "If all you shoot is Glocks you will think its the best trigger in the world" As where I feel as if that was an insult directed to me, after I said "if you know how to shoot Glocks you will love them" As I was agreeing to kingdarb's post with how he thinks its alot easier to shoot the Glock using the trigger reset trick on stock Glock triggers that helps reduce the trigger pull and to make you more accurate, as I have personal experience with this. I have shot quite a number of different pistols and revolvers so I do know a few things about different trigger feel on different guns.

Working the reset is not a trick, its called proper form and it should be practiced on all firearms.

Which 3.5lbs trigger connector do you guys recommend? The Ghost or the Scherer?

I've read good things about the Ghost 3.5# connector. But I've heard as many good things about the Glock OEM connectors as in they're super reliable like the rest of the OEM stuff in general.
