its not the recoil its the... aw who am I kidding its the recoil but I don't want a 500 never really liked revolvers in anything but 45lc.
I know im weird

the ammo cost doesn't bother me all that much, I am worried if they allow it in the indoor range at the Saskatoon WF I'm fine being outdoors but you all know being in -20 plus wind-chill feels like.

Ammo cost will bother you, trust me. 20 rounds of 50AE is around $60 vs. 50 rounds of 44 Magnum for $50

nice. it may be your first but you will buy more. the next one can be more a more practical 22, 9mm or 40 to hone your skills. I liked the feel of the DE too and picked one up as well. if you have a DE it might as well be a 50, but if you are worried about ammo cost and availability of the 50ae and you don't reload, you can always buy the 44 barrel.
enjoy

If you really like the DE 50 the 357 should be pretty close. The difference is the ammo cost and the practicality. Not every range will allow a 50 AE, some restrict heavy magnum calibers to only 1 or 2 shooting spots on the range so less chance of having access.

Yes I agree they be ###y beasts, BUT, in general they're a huge waste of money and effort. What you tend to find in the long run is that people buy big magnums: 44's, 454's, 500's, they get really excited in the beginning, and then after a month or so the novelty wears off and they become a PITA. After that the gun only comes out for 10 or 20 rounds before they pack it in for the day. A little while later they just stop bringing it to the range altogether.

If you're rich, party on lucky man. But otherwise aim for something a bit more practical that you'll get good long term use out of and not just some novelty item that will end up on EE or gathering dust in a safe in 3 months.

I have 6 rifles I only use 2 my 91/59 and SKS-D the rest I just stare at thinking I need that type 97 that's just how I am your probably right about how it might just end up in my safe but really im ok with that I just love of look at them take them apart then clean them and put them away till next month.

how many people buy a truck when they should buy a piat. just saying (I know that a bad way to put it)

this is my truck but its locked it a shipping container with a steering lock on it and I can only use it at the race track after getting a paper saying im not to go off-road with it.

I am a Desert Eagle owner and if this is what you want, then buy it. As long as you know the pros and cons, whatever makes you feel happy.

Just something to think about, wildlife fed is the only range in stoon you can shoot the 50ae gun works only goes up to .44mag. What happens when the wild life fed has to move?

I've thought about this too. Housing is getting too close for comfort near the SWF. The silhouette range is a bit further out, but probably not enough to move the main enterprise there. Too bad, I like having a range that doesn't take an hour to drive to.

Hopefully if/when it moves, they don't give the location to the members that never clean up after themselves!

Wholesale has a Gen 3 G21 huh? Project Flathead Model A might have just hit a little speedbump in the financing!

enjoy it. I enjoy mine, even with the ammo and hiccups. Stress relief in a box.
