GLOCKS going to next on prohib list??

You guys are whining about this too much instead of spin doctoring the story. What would the outcome have been if just ONE single teacher or student had a CCW and permission to carry on campus? The outcome would have been a lot different I think. Perhaps the ban of guns on campus' was taken into consideration when this whacko decided that would be a great place to massacre as many as possible without getting shot.

I have been writing letters all day. If even one gets printed the self defence angle will be there.

Local news spent more time talking about the cheap street Glock gun and showing our dumb ass self righteous firearm expert describing and showing how mags are changed so easily allowing for maximum delivery of high power machine gun like shooting, just helping portrait guns as evil. TVA you suck!!!!!

EXACTLY what I was thinking... if even a couple of people in that building had been carrying concealed, there would've been a lot fewer victims.... IMHO

It's how funny how the average person thinks that the calibre of a weapon is the type of gun.

It's a good laugh. Their logic seems to work like this. Say for example, stats show that 53% of all handgun homicides are committed with 9mm rounds. So, if we ban all 9mm handguns, then boom we've just cut gun murders in half!

They make out the 9mm to be some super special round so much deadlier than the others. He goes "Almost every single manufacturer makes at least one gun that uses the 9 mm." It's super easy to come by on the streeetz!

And it's such a shocking fact that you can empty the gun in only seconds! As opposed to what? Flintlock pistols from the 1800's?

I dunno. I think something truly is to be inferred here. Every single time there is a piece supporting gun restrictions and pointing out the danger, it's riddled with inaccuracies, pointless facts, and other facts that really don't focus on the issue at hand. It's always someone ignorant to the facts about firearms. It must be, because there's almost no such thing as a person who is educated with respect to firearms who is big on such silly gun control ideas. It's built of people who just want to think they've got the answer to a problem and can help save lives, when it's not true.

It just reminds me of watching law and order when they're investigating the scene and the CSI girl says to the guy, looks like he was hit with three 25mm slugs. And then by knowing what calibre it was they show the detectives a picture of the exact gun it will be.

I can't take it seriously anymore, there's nothing to combat it. Just another testament to the meaninglessness of human knowledge.

If 9mm is banned then what are the police gonna use? .22LR's?

Police don't use 9mm, they use .40 cal.

Besides, how many things do they use that are considered prohibited to the public. Bans don't typically affect any law enforcement.

Last time I checked the RCMP/ most city cops are chambered in 9mm.

CNN is the world leader in "yellow journalism". They are a bunch of cowards who just throw out ludicris statement after ludacris statement without any kind of retraction when they are proven wrong. I think they become ###ually aroused when this kind of stuff happens.

Hopefully Lindsay Lohan will be photographed out somewhere showing her naughty bits, so CNN can begin their 60 hour straight coverage of that with their "experts" and they will stop all the bullcrap about this tragedy.

It's tragic that things like this happen, and they seem to get more popular every day. As a gun owner, I'm upset for two reasons. One, I'm just as angry as everyone else that this happened, and two, I'm angry because there will be some sort of backlash against legal ownership.

The gun owner battle is one about P.R. these days, and idiots like this are going to be the last straw. I'm sorry to say it, but "the public" in the eyes of the "anti" is proving time and time again that we can't responsibly own guns without killing each other.

It seems to be highschool and college kids these days that are most likely to do something like this. They are under emense pressure, are stressed to the max and eventually turn suicidal. Then they go shoot up their school because they know the world will notice.

CNN and every other news network, go fornicate yourselves with an iron stick. Every time you broadcast this stuff for days on end, the next depressed kid will get the bright idea he should try and top the last guy

As far as I'm concerned newsies, it's YOU WHO PULLED THE TRIGGER

I agree 200%. It is a big tragedy but also unfair that lawful gun owners will now have to pay for the consequences in one way or another. I'm not going to get defensive about what if some one carried a concealed weapon, etc. But I am really disgusted at the proportions that the media had blown and TWISTED this up. They are only doing this so the story gains popularity, sensationalism and earn them money. Only for those who are uneducated in the subject. Their interpretation of the facts is not realistic.

My question is since these biased / propaganda acts are thrown at the face of every one, how are our law makers going to see it in their eyes? We all know how they make their decisions for our gun laws……..

There's no truth in the news and no news in the truth......

News agencies are concerned with one thing.....Increased viewer/readership which translates directly to increased revenue. They make money and they do it by sensationalizing criminals/crazies and smearing their victims and the facts.

Exactly the post I was going to write. Thank you. :puke:

Dave

I listened to the news report that played the video from the cell phone of a witness standing outside...it was chilling to hear the echoing sound of the shots from inside the building:( , but they were very slow in coming, one after another. Mag capacity had nothing to do with it.

Amen brother, Amen.

sorry to stray, but the Police i know use .40 S&W

it's not that the 9mm isn't a destructive round (VT), it's that the average cop doesn't shoot criminals in the head, so therefore there's not always enough stopping power in a 9mm. once i was hanging out w/ a cop i know, and he told me that more people walk away from 9mm wounds (from police) than get killed. and we all know police don't shoot to live

Under the federal assault-weapons ban enacted in 1994, magazines were limited to 10 rounds. But that ban was allowed to expire in 2004.

Yeah... it expired and that's why this happened.

Well, since it too was a 9mm, I wouldn't be surprised if the Anti's just say F-It! Let's ban 9mm's to go along with the .25's and .32's which are prohibited.

This thought also crossed my mind.

Well the ones you don't know still might use 9mm.

Sorry but your friend is just making stuff up. The RCMP use 9mm, and the several shootings that have made the news over the past few years dealt with fatalities.

What is stopping power? It is a artificial concept. The only knocks on 9mm would be its ability to penetrate barriers and it's smaller size which creates a slightly smaller permanent wound cavity. 9mm rounds are VERY capable of achieving adequate penetration.

Not only does the RCMP use 9mm but they conducted extensive ballistics tests comparing .38, 9mm, and .40 before choosing the 9mm.

More people walk away from pistol wounds -period- than get killed.
