I will admit I am not a fan of the Barnes tsx or ttsx for small calibers. This is from my personal experience. However I haven't played with the gmx. I was planning on trying them in my 25/06 but it's barrel is just about done. It still shoots decent with the 75 g vmax for some reason so it has become a dedicated coyote rifle for the rest of its barrel life.
So that leaves my 300 wm. I need a load for hunting. I hunt mainly black bear with 250 yards being a far shot. Realistically 50-75 yards so I thought about trying the gmx. Not sure whether I should go 150 gr or 165 gr.
The problem I face is I may start moose hunting in a different area and I'm told there are a lot of marshes and open cuts where longer shots are common
Does anyone have any real experience using these gmx bullets on game from a magnum 30 cal?
Or should I just go with 200 gr woodlieghs and be done?
