Go to powder for 45 ACP

Winchester Super Target, 5 grains under a 200gn LSWC boolit. I was told that it is the same load that the USMC Pistol team use. I also use it in 40S&W and will try to work up a 9mm load this summer.

I am surprised no one mentioned Longshot. Its what I've been using. I like the way it meters, its very consistent and accuracy is excelllent. A fellow reloader at the range commented on how clean it buirned compared to the Unique he uses.

I am in process of trying AA No.5 its a little dirtier. Still working with it.

My pet load for .45 ACP is 5.2 gr Red Dot behind a 200 gr lead SWC.

I've tried W231, works well, but very dirty.

Unique & Bullseye are also secondary powders I will also use.

Accurate Arms #5. The 'liquid Unique'. A ball powder with a similar burning rate to Unique but throws much smoother through a powder measure.

Red Dot is my choice becuase I also use it in 44 Special as well.
I have Unique & Bullseye lying around, but not as much as Red Dot.
Myself I found it very easy to work up accurate loads with the Red Dot.
