Good .22LR Pistol for Newbie

Partial to the Ruger MK11 for a intro semi auto pistol and the S&W model 41 when you want to step up. About 27 years of shooting into the bottom one in the pic and never an issue. Got the top one off the EE and a great shooter as well.

As mentioned in previous posts lots of help out there in videos online to help with striping down and cleaning.

As for disassembly of the Ruger. Why? Our MkII SS 5.5" Bull Barrel, has 10's of thousands of rounds through it and lucky if it gets cleaned, never mind disassembled.

Wow - watched a couple of videos aboout this thing on YouTube and I am suitably impressed!
How durable is it?

Browning Buckmark for price and reliability and quite accurate. Easier to strip then the Ruger Mark III. The CZ Kadet you cant go wrong but it is pricey comparing it to the Buckmark and Ruger Mark III
 
Took my Buck Mark to the range on Sat and Sun had a few jams (3-4) using Blazer Bulk ammo, cleared up after about 50 rounds. Shot 400 rounds total even hit the bullseye a couple of times (20 yrds). I like it feels solid and nice balance........:D

Works like a charm and has loaded several thousand rounds for my 22/45 without a hitch. I expect it to load many thousands more without any issues. The only problem is that it makes burning through a brick in an afternoon child's play.

Rimfire Sports seems to have them in stock most of the time, the price is decent and service is excellent.

What about a S&W?

I have a Smith and Wesson 22A. I really like it and it doesn't seem to be as expensive as the Rugers or the Brownings (at least not here in the states). Accurate and very easy to disassemble. I have a cheap NcStar multi-reticle sight on it for plinking at 0 to 50 yds. :)
 
I had a Smith and Wesson model 422 and it was excellent with any kind of ammo. By the way that gun is discontinued. I sold it to buy a Sig Sauer mosquito. Now I'm looking for a good ammo to load my gun witout jams and the mosquito is 2 times more expensive than the Smith.
