We are going from a revolver to pistol.
are Deagle any better than the cz85? they use same mechanism dont they?
the CZ shadow ( with ambi-safety ) will work wonders. too bad it's DA/SA
Also M&P is also great.
GLOCK is not a LEFT hand ready gun. only some(rare still) newer ones are.
STI GP6 is nice.
If you can convert a CZ Shadow into a DA than it's awesome.
Its called skill and training. A shooting partner of mine can run circles around most right handed shooters with his Glocks. The controls do not need to be on the right side of the firearm for a lefty to run it efficiently. This goes for nearly all pistols.

Wait until your employer decides on a model then buy the same. If increased proficiency for work is a serious concern, avoid other models. Seeing how you carry for a living I would put the vast majority of my efforts in mastering the tool that could very well save your life.

+1.
If you are going to carry a particular firearm, it would seem best to master it's
particular manual of arms.
It's all well and fine to be 'proficient' with all types, but when you may have to actually use a firearm, in protecting life and property, you will want to use whatever conscious thought remains at the time on sight picture and whether, or not, to press the trigger....not on fumbling the controls!
