Good ballistic Calculator

this JBM is nice because it's free but it makes the same oversight on the report that I stated earlier. It only produces come ups in 100 meter increments. Last time I checked, believe it or not, deer, moose and grounds hogs are not disciplined enough to offer themselves in 100 meter increments.

I will say it again... The only increment that is relavent is the distance that correlates to each scope click.

As Juster pointed out GunSim.com will have it soon.

I'm looking forward to it.

I have yet to find a balistic report that is truly useful for hunting.
Let me explain...
Every balistic report generated by these programs tells you the drop, wind, remaining velocity etc at incrental distances such as every 25, 50 or 100 yards. I see this as a short sighted idea because my scope does not index in 25 yard increments. It indexes in .25 MOA increments. I want to see a balistic report that tells me what distance I am zero for each scope click.

+.25 MOA = 122 yards
+ .5 MOA = 156 yards
+.75 MOA = 186 yards
etc
etc

Same for wind at X MPH
5 mph
.25 MOA = 162 yards
.5 MOA = 278 yards
.75 MOA = 351 yards
etc etc

This I would be happy to pay for.

JBM does this in their calculator. Check out the "constant drop" cards. It will show drop as constant, and the distance will vary. When I was learning my rifle, I made up a drop card with .5 mil drops. Great for getting a general feel of the ballistics and getting comfortable with how the round drops.

BulletFlight Lvl2 from Knights Armament is an awesome ballistics app for Apple Idevices. Has all the major military and long distance calibers already built in and the options to create your own. I really recommend it. For 11.99 you cant go wrong. my 2 cents.... cheers

I'll also +1 the Bulletflight. I have been using Shooter lately for my Samsung Galaxy and I must say it has a few features I like more than running Bulletflight on my Ipod Touch.

With the GPS enabled on my phone the program is able to grab my elevation/weather details from the nearest weather station which is a great starting point. It also is able to do the math for range calculations via mil/moa reticles if you know the target size.
