Hey Guys,
I spotted a used Winchester model 94 30-30 at a local gun shop and am wondering if it is a good deal or if I should back away.
The serial # shows that it was made in 1955
The gun itself is in decent shape i guess for the age
The bluing on the barrel and receiver has some wear of course as well as the stock and for end so this gun has definitely been used
There is a little bit of pitting and rust on the top of the receiver, but very minimal can only see it if you look really close
The action seems to cycle smooth
I tried looking down the bore with a light as far as i can see the crown looks good and the rifling is still there
I don't see any deep scratches or major flaws in the chamber
The trigger feels nice and crisp
And the sights seem in good order
The guy is asking 700 but is willing to let it got for 600, not sure but I think this is decent price.
I'm no veteran when it comes to lever action any advice would be appreciated,
Thanks.
