Good news BC guns are clearing

I had suspected such. I had a 22 already arrive but nary a perp on the 9mm i bought in the same transaction (store purchase), which could be a store ####-up (they could have put both on the same transfer...) but also got another transfer thru from a purchase 3 days later.

Sometimes it is better to put on more than one transfer as multiple transfers (normally 3 or more) can be flagged and slow the process. Also, id one were a new gun from the store's inventory and another was a consignment, it would likely be on two reference numbers. Only the retailer you bought from would have this info , of course.

True enough.

Thx for pushing thru on this, hopefully (assuming the govt passes this in the fall, I've never seen cbc going after the govt like with the NS stuff, so who knows), how bad will this be for business not having short gun sales?

Could you tell us how long it takes a store to input the transfer initiation? I've heard 20 mins, but that seems excessive given the limited amount of info the buyer provides and the store inputs should be cut and paste. And how often is the rcmp portal down? All stuff the cons could use to attack the libNDPers (incompetent govt, not understanding cause/effect), but more so we can crunch some numbers and see how the CFOs are doing (its been a massive surge, so if they are grinding thru at a steady, good rate, they deserve praise for that. Don't crap on the front line workers for the management's failure to grasp reality...)

Anyone in bc that has got a transfer recently willing to let us know where they are in the #s? You transfer should have a 7 digit number, we were at 587###x at the beginning of this stupidity, and the cfo office claimed they do it in order received (based on the transfer # assigned by the rcmp system). Which likely isn't the case, but thats what they told me. Anyone get an approval who is in the 592###x, 593###x, or 594###x yet? Can't get thru to the cfo to waste 15 seconds of their time asking, and as is typical, the rcmp online portal isn't working.

Had my #588#### transfer approved June 16th, I ordered the pistol May 31st from Reliable Gun

When this first started, it would often take 20 mins, when the site was working. This is because the RCPM site was so slow. When working through the night, when the site was at full speed, it only takes 2-3 minutes if it is for a single firearm. Maybe a minute of so for each additional one.

This is why the system be f*cked- I ordered a gun from gundealer (new Brunswick) may 31, after hours. Transfer was started on june 1, approved june 7 (5888###) ,and in my hands in bc june 13. Why the f would another 588###x take another week to clear...

Two things-
Thanks to everyone on the info/transfer dates, actually useful info instead of the pure toxicity that a small portion of the "community" spews forth, and

Its obvious from the randomness of numbers approved/still waiting that the CFO just pulls the transfers out of a giant bingo spinner.

Sadly, it appears it may be "worthwhile" to quit your job and spend all day calling in to 'prompt' the CFO to prioritize your transfers (maybe this has the benefit of them actually having to do them in a timely manner).

4star, that sucks man.

At least we have a few months before any potential stopping of transfers, but what a sh*tshow. Like most things govt, there's lots of efficiency that could be realized here (like a "rubber stamp" of transfers if another one was approved in the previous XY days). Or payment based on # approved/time in the system.

Your tax dollars, sorta working....

I know this is not the right forum but I need to say it ! The Liberal Government is SOLELY to blame for this situation !
Absolute Agenda Pushing ! I for one will be so glad to see Sock Boy and the rest of his Student Council kicked out of office !

Guys, Quebec just annonced they expect about a 3 month wait for transfers today… That means The commies will have time to come back from their summer break and pass the OIC in before half of my 4 pending transfers get approved ffs……

Rather than electronic....someone must be pushing a lot of paper. Seems like some are reaching to the bottom of the pile and processing in order. Others may be too lazy to reach so just grab the top one dropped on the pile 10 minutes ago, so the one from 2 weeks is still on the bottom.

Finally got my June 3rd purchase approved this morning.

From ON to BC, transfer 591; BC wait time seem like close to a month now.

It's purely random on the part of the CFO. I've got a 589 still no response. 3 others ordered well after that one are complete. All in the postal system at the moment. A few others more recent will be a while.

Purchased from Nordic Marksman June 18th, Initialed within moments of hitting purchase button. Transfer approved June 30th, 0930hrs, CP tracking emailed 0937hrs. Nordic Marksman for the absolute win!!

Maybe a bit of advice/help for those still waiting:

Called in to BC CFO today (process detailed below) talked with a very helpful agent on a few pending transfers (June 2, 5 and 9). The first one would have never gone thru since the store had selected "collection" instead of range shooting, since I don't have a collection # with the CFP (simple mistake on a glitchy interface that wasn't even working as crappily as it usually does). They are too busy to take the time to sort out erroneous forms on their own. Overall took about 7 minutes of the agents time to get 3 transfers through.

They aren't doing transfers specifically in the order received, and she hinted that most of the approvals are phone-prompted. So give it a week or two before annoying them. But if it has been a bit longer, it may be worth a call in to see if theres a hiccup.

To reach the bc cfo:
Step 1:
Dial 1-800-731-4000, hit 1 when it picks up (english). DO NOT TURN ON YOUR PHONE SPEAKER! Wait thru the 15 second statement about new rules, then hit 1, then 9530. The call will transfer to the bc cfp office. It will ring once, and then a message will say "we apologize but we can't answer the phone". Hang up.
Step 2:
Repeat step 1, 638 times (don't turn on your speaker or the same message will literally suck the soul out of your body)
Step 3:
Recharge your phone
Step 4:
Repeat step 1, 208 times.
Step 5:
On attempt 209 you will get thru and be placed on hold. This will disconnect after 35 minutes
Step 6:
Repeat step 1, 488 times
Step7:
On attempt 489 you will be placed on hold for 24 minutes, then an agent will come on, confirm your identity, and approve your transfers in a minute or two (please be polite).

And you are all done! The system working perfectly as intented!

Good luck!
