Good news for 303 fans

I just phoned CamPro Bullets, talked to a gent named Tan, and described exactly what you all are saying.

I then sent him an email quoting people's wants and needs as described in this thread.

He was extremely grateful for the intel!

If they don't want to produce .315 diameter bullets or don't want to tool up for it, I suggested to them that they produce exposed lead base bullets. Never got a reply.

Campro mostly make plated bullets. Exposed base jacketed bullets would be a completely different animal for them. Not surprised the didn't answer

I've shot the Campro/IVI 180 grainers in various rifles, accuracy was nothing to write home about. I've had much better luck with Hornady and Sierra flat base bullets.

What do you consider not very accurate? Out of all the LE’s you’ve shot them through, regardless of powder or loads?

  • Fazerkerley (close to new condition) with scope, poor man's sniper rifle
  • # 4 *1 long branch, same condition
    • P14 in excellent condition

5-6" at 100 yards is not great, while speer and hornady give me 2" groups

If you have throat erosion - very common in guns shot with cordite - you'll always get better accuracy from a flat based bullet, and/or exposed base or cup based bullet.

Actually, I'm seeing 303 British ammo everywhere now for $40 box. I hope people will stock up. With enough demand, suppliers will keep the stuff coming.

Is that with Full Metal Jackets or legal for hunting jacketed bullets??

The last box of Privi I saw at the local gun shop a week ago was $49.95/20/175grain Spire Point, lead tip. That was before taxes.

Both G4C and Canada's Gun Store (site sponsors) currently list PPU soft points in stock for about $40 per box. Hunting rounds. 150gr and 180gr I see.
