Good non restricted "AR" type rifle.

Its not even close to an AR, its in the same category as XCR , ACR, 180, X95 ect ! its just another non- restricted black rifle.

I know I know we want to keep it NR but change a few things here and there from an AR and you have the Maccabee Defense. If you were to compare an AR-15 to any of the things that you listed (looks, and parts compatibility wise) a Maccabee defense is the closest thing to a NR AR-15 you can get currently.

The short story is that there are lots of options, however the best ones currently have long wait lists to get on. Currently the Modern Sporter (awaiting FRT currently), Maccabee defense, and WK180-C are the hot new rifles to own (unless you are Dilligaf and a complete elitist :p in which case see above).

If you are in the market for an AR-10 style rifle, there is the BCL-102, and the Stag 10 currently that are non-restricted and come in multiple calibers. In my opinion, the current production (Gen 2?) BCL-102 rifles are hideous and I would go for the Stag 10 if you don't get a Gen 1 BCL-102.

Keep a sharp eye on the EE for any of these to come up for sale for a reasonable price and nab it to skip the pre-orders.

Modern hunter in 308, modern Varminter in 223. Expensive, but built in Calgary.

5600 base price...?

Supposed to be match grade everything. Likes to have lots of oil in it, and can use .308 pistol mags.

They don't need any more oil than an AR-15 does. I maintain mine the same as I do my AR's and it's been 100% reliable.

And I think the price for the base model rifle is around $3600 not $5600, check the ATRS website to confirm that though.

Looking for a NR AR type rifle. I haven't seen very many options. Can you fine people help me out please?

I don't think you've been looking very hard, there has been nothing but thread after thread in the black rifles section talking about the options we currently have and rifles we are waiting to be released or classified.

OP, how about a budget? Caliber preference? Can you buy parts and assemble it yourself or do you need it to come complete? Do you want ARish or does it just have to be a non restricted magazine fed semi auto?

THAT is NOT a base model rifle as the base model rifle is $3350.00, which is about the same as what a comparably equipped AR would cost assuming you went with decent billet upper/lower. That example will all of the OPTIONAL upgrades is actually $4200.00

Stag 10 is available in 6.5 CR and .308win. The AR10 is the original AR - the AR15 was based on the AR10. Stag is excellent quality and very reasonably priced compared to some other NR options and lots of aftermarket accessories available.

Short of take down pins what does the SLR not use as far as parts that an AR or MS uses??

Match grade parts aren't all they're cracked up to be and they can be replaced at any time. The Stag uses .308 pistol mags as well.

The main differences; push pin take down, non slanted magwell, forward assist option, normal trigger pocket.... properly anodized :D

Push pins make no difference to performance or reliability.
Slanted mag well makes no difference to performance or reliability.
Forward assist is a stupid idea and anyone with a hint of knowledge knows better than to use it.
Trigger pocket accepts milspec triggers. Yes, the trigger packs won't work, get over it. Geissele is the gold standard in aftermarket triggers and theirs fit.
The anodizing is correct and is being done by some vendors as well. Choose wisely.

So the base model with proprietary parts is just over $1000 more than the "base" stag 10. Got it.

Here's someone who has done their homework.
