Good shoulder holster for 1911?

"...crummy..." They're not. It's because the muzzle is pointed backwards and as you turn it's pointed at other shooters.
Get an Uncle Mike's. Light, comfortable and reasonably priced.
A .45 isn't good bear medicine.

A vertical holster holds the muzzle downwards, you just have to be careful when presenting. The Jackass horizontal style (that was a brand name, by the way, not a judgemental comment), as mentioned, points to the back at everyone behind you. - dan

I was under the impression that shoulder holsters were legal to own but not legal to use in Canada (concealed firearm stuff). What are the particulars? Are they okay to use at a range? Or only if not concealed under a jacket or some such at a range? Are they used in CDP-type shooting at all in Canada or are the sweep issues too much to deal with?

Shoulder holsters are not used in IDPA/CDP style shooting for the reason enumerated above. They are completely legal in Canada. To reiterate the reason for them not being allowed at ranges arise from the fact the handgun muzzle will sweep those behind the shooter.

Take Care

My ATC states:

The firearm shall be carried in a secured holster at all times and only when performing those duties at remote locations in the province(s)/territories indicated. This authorization does not authorize concealing the firearm on the holder's person.

So for legal ATC sanctioned wilderness carry, a shoulder holster worn outside of your outer layer of field clothes is OK.

:bangHead:I resurrected it because I want to order something from Galco and I seem to remember they used UPS.

EDITED: AND I don't want to start a new thread just to get a quick answer then all the thread-nazi's will tell me to use the search function which I did but I don't feel like sifting through a hundred pages and still not get an answer so I wrote this instead.:bangHead:
