Gophers!!

Maybe what we should look at is an anual CGN gopher derby, find a large chunk of land with a load of gophers and have a weekend camp out and gopher shoot.

See LRC that's why you make the big bucks, always thinkin' ;)

Retired guys calendar
1.Shooting and motorcycle season
2. Not shooting and motorcycle season

How bout both, I ride to, how bout we strap some long guns on our back and head down the highway. With Trigger locks on of course!!;) wonder how far we would make it before being pulled over??? geesh gets ya thinking is there a law that would make transport of a firearm on Motorcycle heading down the highway Illegal....that would raise a few eyes heading down the highway with a Robinson, VZ, or a Sig with 30/5rnd mags strapped to your back. LOL
Any volunteers to try that and say we are just CGN'ers off on our anual poker run and gopher shoot!!!:p :p :p not me.

All I gotta say is "You know your a gun nut when ....." ;)

Wish my wife would go along with something like that. I think if I even mentioned it she would beat me to death with a frozen chicken.

That is so true..............

Just the same old warning. I don't know what the regs are like out of BC, but here the only gophers open for shooting or killing at all, have to be on private property. bearhunter

Mmm gopher shooting :) My wife and I went out to Sask for our honeymoon and each brought .22's and shot gophers for days! Just need to get back there again someday soon!

:D :D Nothing say's love more than misting god's fury little creatures together You will be married a very long time.;) :D Did I forget to mention you will never have a hunting trip alone with the boys either, or the fact you will be taking her to the range every time you go, or the fact that she will get to know guns and what she likes and she will probably end up with guns that are nicer than yours and then she starts outshooting you, and worse of all starts giving you firearms advice infront of your friends. Oh ya....that was just a bad dream.  :) Its all good, finding a woman who loves the shooting makes getting the toys alot easier.;) :D

This is a scary reality. My girl has much better taste then me and the way she finishes antique furniture tells me all of her wood stocks will be perfect.

She'll be out poppin' gophers with me in South Sask. this summer.

Darn if I only still lived in Alberta. My Grandma/Uncles farm in Irma always had tonnes of Gophers. But in Ontario it hard to find anything remotely like banging those buggers at 200+ yards ;)

You all think of us poor Ontarians, that don't get to experience the fun you do on those hot summer days. Makes a winter of reloading SOOOO worth it, eh?

I'm in edmonton too, and I know there are loads of feilds around with them, jsut need to find out how to get permission to shoot them.

My uncle has like 150 acres of land down in Carlton Place, ON. He says there's a lot of fishers down there, and they've been eating the barn cats he has. Since this is kind of on the same topic and I'm moving down to Ottawa in a month, my question is:

Can I shoot these fishers and are they hard to find? I heard they're nocturnal (spelling) so I can see this being difficult. :p

May I be the first to give the sarcastic resoponce of Ask.;) :)

Most farmers/ranchers are usually more than willing to accept help to relieve the gopher population. It is nice to have a source to ask in advance of a trip though.....knocking on doors uses up alot of great shooting time.

Ask in advance of when you plan to shoot, you will meet a lot of very nice people you will make new friends as you really are helping them out and who knows you may also be offered big game access once you've earned the farmer's trust.
