Got 5 Sweet SKS's from Can Tire on Sale. Score!!!

Sad to hear the quality is tanking on Russian SKS's, and that the magazines are all mismatched. It was only a few short years ago that weimajack was selling premium all-matching SKS's for $300. I bought four from him, and all four are as they came off the Tula or Izhevsk factory floor. My favourite is a 1954 Tula (IZH 2008 import) that was his personal SKS that he eventually sold to me. :)

Hell, it was only a few years ago that I was buying pristine blued, matching mag SKS' with A+ stocks for $179.99 from CT. That was circa 2012-13

The only thing that bugs me about buying SKS or any firearms from CT Is their little registry book ....They keep records of your PAL number with the serial number of the firearm your buying and you have to sign the book..I think its wrong so I have decided to stop buying guns from them.

Not at the three different Canadian Tires, that I have purchased firearms at, (but I am in Alberta). The land of the NDP and carbon taxes

Yes it is annoying but doesn't matter much as I have sold every rifle I bought from them to a guy that had a valid pal and was driving a rusty red Ford F-150 and I think he was from Cape Breton but not quite sure! Best prices around here, the Bayers lake CTC has sold close to 300 sks in the last 12 months!

That's an individual store policy, not a corporate one.

So what. They don't record my address so no biggie. The gubberment has your pal number on file as well and knows you have guns already, and once sold that store record is useless.

I have purchased firearms from two CT store in Calgary and one in Red Deer. Neither ever made me sign a little book.
The most recent purchase was an SKS, from the one store in Calgary that will no longer carry them for some reason.

I guess its really not that big of a deal..It just bugs me..other stores in the area dont do it so I just shop at other stores lol.

Being in the area, can you tell me if there are any other stores that have similar prices and quality, or lack of quality;).

Well from what I have seen around here CT has the lowest SKS prices. That cant be argued. All I really see around here anymore are molot bbq paint specials..most come with some added rust free of charge lol.

They've never made me sign anything.

Yes, from what I have been seeing/hearing there is more rust and I blame it on the importer, stripping the Cosmo off the rifles and leaving them to corrode before they get sold it's a shame!

The biggest risk with CT recording gun and ammo buyers names is the risk of theft of information which could lead to gun theft from your home . CT , like most retail stores , has quite a bit of staff turnover . If the fact that you are a firearm owner got leaked to the wrong people , then it does not take long to track down some ones' address once you have the name of the gun owner . " Loose lips sink ships "
