Got a new tumbler today

Did you get the Cabela's model 400 tumbler with the sifter for $69.99?

I got that one on boxing day and I tumbled some 270 brass. It came out exceptionally clean inside an hour. I was very happy with it.

There was some TARNISH on the brass which was not removed but I didn't expect it to be removed. It cleans the cases, it doesn't remove tarnish.

Depends on if/what you use as an additive or polish. I use Lyman additive or occasionally Dillon to untreated walnut. When you use this, it will definitely take off tarnish.

In fact, one time I accidentally left the tumbler on for a few days with a mix of brass and nickel handgun cases. It polished the NICKEL almost right off some of the cases!!!!
 
A fellow nut gave me the tip of using a bounce sheet with the walnut media (from the pet store, same stuff and much cheaper). It works great.

50lb bag for $18 froma local paint store that brings it in. I get it at cost but even $25/50lbs is half what pet store lizard litter will cost.

Corn media and a few squirts of Meguiars PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish in the Frankford Arsenal "Quick-N-EZ" case tumbler for about 3 hours and the cases look better than new...

I got a second tumbler already full of corn cob with a bunch of used stuff.

I use it for quick tumbles to remove sizing lube after various jobs. The cases aren't covered in as much dust as with walnut.

All my normal cleaning is done with walnut in a Lyman tumbler, or spun and steel wool wiped in a Lee Zip trim.

Yes this the Cabelas one that I got, I didn't bother with the sifter and bought the media tumbler for another $34.00. The tumbler esp. with the media seperater is Great IMHO. FS
 
less is more

I took out a few cups of media and find I'm getting much better results with the corncob media. Inst. say to fill the machine 2/3 rds full I may have more than I should have.
Man I been a tumblin fool since I got this thing. FS
