Got my first deer tonight

Heart and lung shots are devastating but don't guarantee a bang flop. Still a fatal choice either way and it's hanging on the pole, that's the bottom line. Well Done!
 
Congratz! You will never forget that deer.

I absolutely love the federal fusions, great bullet, with very good accuracy. Although this year im going to be using Winchester PowerMax (same principal as the fusions). They shoot LIGHTS OUT in my .308

My last three deer have been two bang flops, and one runner that went about 75 yards (with no heart!)
 
Great story, very nice deer !! Congrats on your first Buck !!

I remember many years ago doing a nice heart shot on a running buck. He never missed a beat and ran a good 80-90 yards down a hill before he finally collapsed. The stamina of these animals never fail to amaze me.

How do you like the T3 Varmit in .308? I am eyeing one up, but haven't been able to handle it yet, not sure of the stock, but it seems like it would atleast lighten the load for hunts such as this.

I am going in Nov, and looking to fill the freezer too. Thats a beauty man, well done!!
 
rite on. the fusions a good round ! congrads as well btw man. Your not alone either, I never snaped pics of my first few deer either. cool that ur first was a buck tho.
