have you had it out of the stock.....?...the two Ti stocks I had did not have the bedding block...just a couple aluminium sleeves around the screw holes...
I have had it out of the stock, noticed the silver aluminum where the screws are...figured that was enough bedding to be classed as an aluminum bedding block
If you were only going to load it down to 2700 fps with a 150, why not just buy a 308? I'm sure that bullet/velocity combination will kill deer dead, but why?
I was headed off hunting for a couple days and didn't have enough time to work up a load of say a 150 gr. @ 2950 fps, so I just loaded some a couple grains off book max and headed to the range to get it sighted in. A 150 gr. @ 2700 fps is plenty for deer out to 300 yards anyways, look at all the deer the 300 Savage has dropped with no fuss.
how do you like the Lightweight Talley ring/base setup? Did you have to lap your rings in or did they fit well from the get go?
I love the Talleys, very light, but solid as hell. Great screw system with the 4 torx heads on each ring top. I lapped them because it's just what I do when I mount new rings, but they didn't require alot of lap.
How is the stock configured compared to a mountain rifle. it looks a little flatter through the pistol grip. If the stock of a mountain rifle fits will the stock from the TI.
The Ti stock is indeed flatter through the pistol grip compared to my LSS stock. If I had a LSS mtn rifle at the moment I'd try fitting the Ti action to the laminate stock just to see. Im 90% sure it would drop right in (with an ADL mag box) as the barrel contour is the same on the Ti vs Mtn rifle. A Ti in 260 Rem would make for an ideal deer rifle IMO, as the LSS mtn rifle is about perfect in my eyes, this is just lighter
