Got out to the range today with my new .50 cal AR mags.

Some extra footage;

Enjoy!

If you have anything to do with the company you've just given the firearms lab reason to evaluate them as 5.56/223 mags. This can easily be considered advertising them as 5.56. I'm aware you say in the vid that you're not affiliated, and I hope for the sake of the business that's the truth as they seem to have the whole business tied up in this one product.

Hell even giving you these to test and review with 5.56 is a horrible idea on the behalf of PCV as that can be considered advertising as 5.56.

I have nothing to do with them other than the fact that I know them. This video would be no different than if I bought a new Glock 22 and reviewed it for my channel. I'm told that the firearms lab already knows about these mags. The company that made these can't tell me what to do with them! lol

What all the excitement with IBTL.

TVPress did his .50 Beowulf on tavor last yr; didn't recall all the TinHat excitement.

Fair enough.

The last thread that surfaced about these was locked as they're marked .50cal which isn't a SAAMI accepted caliber and until there is a RCMP ruling is considered a grey area topic.

I was confused why you would say this, but then I went back and read the other thread on this where "CGN Admin" stated:

Until we see official RCMP's declaration of the status of magazines that are marked in generic terms such as "50 cal", which is not an actual SAAMI caliber, magazines with such markings will not be allowed to be discussed at CGN. We will only allow the discussion of magazines that are designed and marked for specific existing calibers, such as 50 beowolf, 50 AE, etc.

The mags are marked for .50 and the website for these mags specifically says:

Q: What ammunition will work in the PCV-50?
A: The PCV-50 is designed to hold and feed five rounds of .50 calibre ammunition, specifically the .458 SOCOM and .50 Beowulf.

and there are lots of generic magazines that say ".40" instead of ".40 S&W" or ".45" instead of ".45 ACP", so it seems like this is allowed to be discussed? Sorry if not, please delete. I thought people were waiting for the video to see if they worked correctly.

They are simply misinformed. There doesn't need to be an RCMP ruling. Because it's a 5 rnd mag and not a 10 rnd pinned to 5.

There is no grey area. I can't figure out why people can't get their head around this. The explanation is in RCMP special bulletin number 72.

There are plenty of mags that are just marked "40" "45" etc. what is the difference? Im not saying these are legal to use, as I am not sure.. but I don't see why they wouldn't be

I'm aware that you're talking in general and not directly to me. However I just have to clear that for my part I'm just repeating why the last thread was locked.
