kinda wonder why the paranoia over tracking? Ever since my ma registered me for a birth certificate and SIN number I have been tracked, would have to give up everything like drivers licence, PAL, hunting license, insurance, health care number, working, credit, filing income tax , cell phones, PC, smart tvs and move off grid to be free of the freedome domination conspiracy. Hell most cars and trucks have computors and the vin is registered to the owner!

And yet folks still wonder why I haven't had a cell phone since I retired 15 1/2 years ago and gave up my government-issued tweaked 5 watt bag phone; nor smart anything!

Downside, although it can liven up an other-wise boring day:
Agent Smith / Jones / Anderson from Revenue Canada call me on the land-line at least once a day to tell me I'm going to jail if I don't pay what I owe RFN, Amazon calls to ask if it's ok to authorize a $300.00 Prime membership, "Publish Clear House" calls to ask me how it feels to be a millionaire [Great! Thank you very much; how did you know?], Windows Support Centre calls me to tell me there is suspicious activity on my account emanating from my computer, which is especially good when they call the cottage where we don't have a computer, much less the inter-net, and not to forget when the Visa Mastercard Security Office tells me there has been fraud detected on my account, so to provide extra security, I'm to just give them my cc details, DOB, SIN, &c. and they'll take care of it for me. The tards have still not yet been able to figure out my 463825968773532774653 coded message.
I always respond with a variation of "Gee, I'm so glad you've got your Covid problem fixed over there so that you're back to work! Followed by some good old Anglo-Saxon slang, although some might call it a multiple-expletive filled rant.

I tend to try to follow most rules. Hate the gun buyback BS because I know I'll get a stupid tax credit at some point. Meanwhile nothing. As far a the idiot in Ottawa tracking me...I have nothing to hide. I USE my vote to voice my displeasure. Hasn't worked out to well as there are 3 conservative parties in Canada that split the freaking vote. Nothing like circling the wagons and shooting towards the middle. smart phones are on a whole other level of tracking. Camera and microphone could be switched on at all times, even when powered down, and the accelerometer could even give away gait, thereby tracking you through gait recogniction, and on top of that all the apps the average person has on thier mobile devices, pictures and etc. five eyes likely has incredibly easy access to all of these things.
done it, even fell for the gentoo meme. also have corebooted t420. the average consumer could just get a pursim laptop for Intel ME_cleaner to get rid of as much of IntelME as possible. shifty is not wrong though, sure a five eyes nation state actor could probably get you five ways from sunday, but that would be targeted surveillance, and for passive surveillence the methods described are still fine to stop all of the passive sniffing, which isn't just goverment in nature but also corporate (I.E. google, facebook, etc.) and it's arguable whether or not Tor is compromised, but if it is the three letter agencies aren't allowing any law enforcement agencies to use whatever exploits they may have for criminal prosecution at the least, it's still only been opsec so far that has resulted in Tor failures for criminals on the network. Most recent discovered compromise was actually entry guards and relays, and not exit nodes, and exit nodes don't matter anyway with onion services.

I get that but , as I say, I have been under a microscope all my life, as we all have been! I have nothing to hide just going to work making a living, they can track my phone all they wish, since I already know that "ALL" electronic devices are capable of hacking , I use things accordingly and live my life.

Being I'm above this, and most Canadians are, and the likeliness hackers are already tracking a majority of phones, this really is a moot concern.
