GP 11 Ammo on sale

How is WSS's supply of GP11 holding up? Anyone going into the store and seeing nothing left? Am I too late to go and get another crate for the K31
that I don"t have yet?

I don't know if they are still working on the same shipment, but apparently they bought a massive order a couple years back. Most of the stores still have a ton of stock. Although if the warehouse is getting low.....makes me think the stores may not be far behind.

As for the rifles, one of the guys said they were getting more , but that was over a year ago. In my opinion.....it's not happening.

Edit - just found some '82 GP11 that's only 90 miles away. It's US$1.22 a round, and I have to go and get it - sales here in UK are face-to-face only.

I'll carry on reloading, methinks. :(

So does that mean there is a good deal on the 7.62x51 somewhere? I need more of that too...

Depends on your view of "good deal". Some of the dealers such as wolverine, CSC, trade-ex, have some of the Austrian 7.62x51 Hert ammo by the crate. About $550 average per crate of 720 so 76 cents/round before tax and shipping. Berdan primed is more common but boxxer can be found. So not a great deal but considering Hert ammo seems to be quite good from what I hear its probably one of the better deals out there, particularly if you can get some boxxer primed stuff.

In Calgary, they have lots but the price is now 41.24 from 32.99. Had to see the manager before I even got the 41.24 price since online is "out of Stock".

Same story in Saskatoon....I went there last night to pick up a few more blocks and was a little surprised when I got to the till. There was no placard indicating that the price had gone up...

Oh well, it was good while it lasted.

Rationale for curtailing sale

I lucked out for a change and drove to a store and picked up some ammo before sale stopped. What is the thinking behind these types of sales? I don't recall seeing any time bracket for sale? Maybe someone in retail business could explain. Thanks!

Most likely they were trying to get rid of stock that wasn't selling at cost or close to at cost.

My WS guy would not hold any or allow me to pay with a Credit Card for later pick up. In Calgary, another local sponsor bought all of WS's 7.5x55 ammo and is selling it at the regular price now.

I reload this round as well. My reloads are much more accurate. GP11 is nice to have, however shooting it is just waste in my opinion.
With PPU brass and 150 gr hornady FMJ cost per round comes to about 45cents. So I would not worry about GP11 even if it was readily available. If reloading is not an option or reloaded ammo have to be on par with GP11, then yes its very good price for the buck.

Can$116.00/C here.

IF they had any. [Right now, they don't]

Face to face sales only, too. 120 miles away, with gas at Can$1.96 a litre.

Back to my reloading bench, then.
