GP 11 Ammo on sale

I reload this round as well. My reloads are much more accurate. GP11 is nice to have, however shooting it is just waste in my opinion.
With PPU brass and 150 gr hornady FMJ cost per round comes to about 45cents???? So I would not worry about GP11 even if it was readily available. If reloading is not an option or reloaded ammo have to be on par with GP11, then yes its very good price for the buck.

Sorry can't agree with you!

Here is what it really costs to reload 7.5x55 Swiss:

Brass:100 PRVIBrass $90.00 plus tax and shipping = $115.00 per 100
The brass’live expectancy is 6 firings therefore $0.20 per cartridge or firing.

Primers:
LR Primers =$40.00/1000, or $0.04 per single primer (if you get your primers from a gun store, it will be closer to $60.00 per 1000)

Powder:

Vargetpowder = $300.00 for 8lbs container or 56050.33 grains. I use 41 grains (modest load) therefore it will be $0.22 per firing.

Bullets:
Bullets $25.00 per hundred
(if you buy them cheap from gun shows, but if you buy in the store it will be double for sure!),
t
herefore $0.25per shot.

Let’s see what it costs to reload one round:

Brass
$0.20
Primer
$0.04
Powder
$0.22
Bullet
$0.25
__________
_____
TOTAL
$0.71

$0.71 per reloaded cartridges, which could be $1.00 and more if you don't have access to cheap reloading components.

I think you completely missed the point. If you buy ammo its because you want to shoot it. I reload as well, but your numbers are not realistic.

Well I received my 5 crates today. All of them are 1979 dated. Only complaint I have is that the shipping company never tried to get a signature for the packages and instead left them on my front step. The reason I know they didn't try to get the signature is because I was home and awake since 7am today and when I went out at 9:30 to shovel the driveway the package was here.

Otherwise couldn't be happier, this should be several years of good fun!

same here, that's why I never deal with these lazy bums carriers, or only against my will as in this case.

I personally like that they'll leave it for me. If your a workin class guy with a day job it's hard to ever be there when they come by. It's not particularly convenient to go pick it up either so when my guy leaves it for me I thank him the next time with a hortens gift card. :)

I concur with this. I do reload swiss rounds but hopped on this deal right away because in order to reload better ammo than GP11 I'm into some expensive bullets like Sierra TMK's. The bullets alone cost me more than this deal per round. Forget about wasting my precious Varget on them. If I'm going to be shooting for tight groups I'll still spin up some of my own but for vintage rifle shoots and competitions where it's common to shoot over 200 rounds, GP11 will do just fine!

Just a question. Is it impossible to use gp11 case for reloading since they use berdan primer? I just purchase 300 gp11 for my future k31.

You can reload it, you just require Berdan Primers of the proper size. It is also much more of a pain as you can't just use a standard die set, you need to manually decap the brass with a special tool (basically it is like a corkscrew), or use the hydraulic decapping method. Personally I have at least 1000 pieces of GP-11 at the moment that I intend to reload at some point in the future, but it is more effort than standard reloading.

I reload the GP11 brass. To decap the berdan primer I tried the hydraulic method with water but had marginal success. I bought a RCBS berdan decapper that pries out the berdan primer. Use Tula brand large rifle berdan primers. I load with cast bullets. I found with a little practice that I can decap fairly quickly and I use a lee ram prime to reprime the cases.

Well I stock up on my components. I reload 30 cal cartridges for some time now.
If I was buying my components at prices that you sell them, I doubt I could have been able to afford anything at all.

Well Intent on buying ammo is to shoot it, yes. But sometimes like with 303 brit surplus its wise not to shoot it , as with time it will appreciate in value and will make it not practical or wasteful to use it up on paper.

Man, I wish I had more money to buy more. 'tis the season. Other priorities.
Big thanks to WSS for this incredible sale. I felt sorry for the sponsor here who put his GP11 up for sale, but no where near this price. Bad timing.
