Dammit Youtube you led me astray once again...

A couple hours ago I posted that I was changing out my springs in my Gp100...

Watched a couple vids on Youtube to figure out how this was done...

I got mostly through without a hickup, until it came to putting the trigger assembly back into the gun.

I wasn't being sure that the transfer bar wasn't binding... and I tried really pushing on it thinking it was just sticking...

Once I figured out it was the transfer bar, I quickly got it back together...

That's when the problem started.

When I get the trigger group installed in the frame, I can cycle the chamber with absolutely no problems. However, once I install the hammer, I can only cycle the chamber one time before the cylinder latch won't disengage. If I rotate the cylinder towards the right (side marked GP100) the cylinder latch drops slightly and then pops back up and the trigger plunger resets when I take the pressure off of the cylinder catch.

I am stumped as to why everything works until the hammer is installed. Also sometimes pushing the trigger forward just a tiny hair disengages the plunger too...

Could this be reassembly issue? Is is possible I bent something?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ya it sounds like you got the mainspring (guide?) in backwards. That's just off the top of my head I'll take some photos after work if you haven't figured it out. If you install that mainspring guide (for lack of a better description, just off the top of my head here) in backwards it doesn't function properly.

Nope, Mainspring Post is in right, I just took it apart and lubed the bejesus out of it... now it's working but the trigger isn't resetting every 20 pulls or so in rapid dry fire... I've got to push the trigger forward (like a fraction of a hair) and I'll hear a click and it's reset good to go again.

Sadly I've had this thing apart so many times tonight I can't remember WHICH SPRINGS are in the gun... are we back to stock, is it half stock half Wilsons???

I've spent too many hours on this thing tonight... maybe I'll revisit it tomorrow.

Right that sounds more like a trigger group problem, as you say, because it isn't consistent.

Simple check is to reinstall the factory trigger spring, isolate the problem that way.

What weight trigger spring are you running now? I used a Wolff shooter's pack I think I'm running an 8 or 10 pound trigger spring, will have to check. I didn't go any lighter because other folks reported trigger return problems on lighter springs. If you went too light & there is a burr or whatever in there, might account for it.

Problem's still there.

Took it apart again, pulled the trigger return Spring, cleaned the plungers, oiled the stock spring...

Every 10th dry fire or so the trigger won't reset itself all the way and the gun locks up.

A little forward pressure applied behind the trigger and you'll hear a "click" with the the cylinder latch releasing and you're back in the game.

WHAT HAPPENDED???

Maybe a few pictures of the trigger group. I just had one of these apart last week and was pretty straightforward to re-assemble.

You say you put ''pressure'' to get the transfer bar in? maybe something is bent but w/o seeing it is difficult to diagnose.

I agree - a few pictures should help get some productive responses. I just changed out my springs the other day - post a few pics and we can get it resolved.
