Grand Power?

I finally got some range time with my K100TT, here are a few thoughts..

-ergonomics are top notch. I have smaller hands and the K100 fits very nice. A bit larger than my 1911, but it is shaped better.

-initially I thought the flat slide release would cause me problems (a bias coming from shooting my 1911 with raised slide release), but was easy to manipulate.

-DA is a very long trigger pull. I found if I staged the trigger (quarter ####), it would take some of the travel out, then set up for a more reasonable DA pull. The weight of the pull was not any heavier than any other auto DA's I have shot..

-SA is sweet. Light and crisp and as noted, a very short trigger reset for follow up shots

-Recoil.... this is an interesting one as it did not feel like a 9mm... All the other 9mm I have shot felt snappy... with this gun, it honestly felt more like my G22. the recoil was muted, and tended to feel like a push, rather than a jerk.. (ammo was factory Winclean 115 gr). It was very pleasent to shoot with easy follow up shots.

-sights... the jury is still out for me on that one..having the 2 dot rear with the flat black front caused me sight picture problems. I am in the process of hopefully getting the fiber-optic sights from Yaro, which should be an improvement.

- factory mags fed flawlessly...overall feeding was 100%..gave me confidence like my glock does...as opposed to my 1911, that occasionally gets finicky..

Overall I am very happy with it, and considering the price, I think it is a great addition to anyone's gunsafe.

Regards, Brent

Last call I made to Marstar, they said they would have all parts and sights within a couple of weeks, the delay being an export permit from Slovakia...

Fiber Optic (red) Front Sight
White Dot Front Sight
Flat Black Bullseye Front Sight and:

Regular Windage Adjustable - White Dot Rear Sight,
Regular Windage Adjustable - Grooved Rear Sight; and
Micrometer (two-axis) Adjustable Target Sight.. (costs more)

This would definately be interesting ... they also told me they were waiting for a couple of holsters and other K-100 specific gear to show up...

I'll bug them on Monday I guess...

I liked the field stripping part of the video. Looked like it strips easier than a Sig. Is this true?

No. From watching the video, while it does look easy, not quite as simple as a Sig, although you don't have to lock the slide back with the K100 which seems nice.

I really want one of these tho. Do they yet come in .40? any plans for one if not?

If I can get it with the treaded barrel, i'm ordering it right away! Sweeeeeeet.

You want everything dont you? I was wondering about the next test. It needs to be put in the Salty ocean for a month, dont clean it and knock off 1000 rds with it!!! You may as well be as abusive to it as they were to the Glock.I must say this pistol has some nice looks to it as well!! The price cant be beat.I figure when I get more money I will have to pick one up!!

Ok, so the next obvious question is - would these be considered factory available upgrades (for ipsc production division purposes)?

Can I get a K100 with a FO front sight and adjustable rear sight directly from the factory? ;-) ;-) Hmmm.... ;-)

Damian

P.s. are the sights metal or plastic? Just in case I wanted to file them down/open/etc...

Sounds like a new Production gun for IPSC has arrived!!!! As far as whether we can use it in Production or open class will have to told by the powers that be.Dont they write up which guns can be used in production?I mean by specific name.

Good morning:

Yes, once the paperwork is in place (an unfortunate mantra in this business  ) we will be carrying a variety of spare parts, accessories, and other K-100-related items.

Hint: in the nylon holsters section of our site several holsters are pictured with the K-100 in them. Most double stack mag pouches (including ours) will do.

The K-100 is widely becoming known throughout the RFC as 'the handgun that fits in the "$1,000 class" but can be bought new for $595.'

Excellent job you guys do,Peter!! You bring lots of new cool toys for us Canadians to play with.Once I get some cash again,I will be on this "Band Wagon".
