Grizzly hunter shot by guide, widow to sue

Looks like a VZ so 7.62x39. That Bear absorbed a lot of lead.

7.2x39K should be able to do a black bear in with dispatch with a proper expanding bullet not the cheap fmj stuff.
Think that round runs a 123 gr bullet @ 2350 fps for about 1500 ft-lbs of me.
A magazine of even the fmj stuff close up is nothing to sneeze at.

I've shot a few bears with an AK and 125 or so (it was over 30 years ago, so...). Neither went very far. A moose my wife shot with it would have died right there if she had waited before going for it.

Best to go get the dogs to manage the risks in dispatching a wounded Bear. KBD's instinctively work as a team to find the Bear (likely to be deep in the thickets) then distract it while the hunter takes aim. Unfortunately 1 was fatally injured in this hunt -

wild boar can do more damage ... it was not a week that we do have to visit the vet for dogs if still alive. and it was the norm in any hunter association and we do not use mean dogs as the carelian ...

Being in that profession you should know that it's more than only a little complicated and difficult to sue for malpractice in Canada. It has to almost be intentional negligence on your part, not just an oversight.

Not so, many legal suits to hospitals include, et al whereby any persons on the patients chart or involved in their care can be named individually in the legal suit. Hospitals etc carry mucho insurance and legal teams to manage these cases. Most settled out if court. As a nurse working in the ER many cases like these occur.

Seems he was shooting at the whole Bear rather than placing his shots. The dog was needlessly killed. Shots should have been directed to the brain until it dropped. Only a couple of shots at most should have done it. FMJ's will do.

We liked ‘doggo argentino’ back home for hog & bear.
They look like a cross between an American pit bull and a brama bull.
Not sure if that’s a politically correct breed up here.
3 or 4 of those would probably give a grizz a good fight.
Nasty pieces of work.
If ugly had 4 legs and a head full of teeth it would be a DA.

Bear and wild boar make pretty short work of big slow dogs that are too aggressive. German hunting terriers are probably most suited to the job. I've personally witnessed one with his entrails dragging still hanging onto a wild boar. They're fast and crazy.

I've danced with sum plump gals in me yunger days and they were pretty darn agile.
One could only imagine trying tuh owt run "the fat guide".
He'd liable tuh trip yew, run atawp and plumb hizz fat arse awn yer spine, nawk
the wind owt yer lungs and hawller, "gitt'im furr"!
