This is why I invested in a Mesa Tactical High Tube stock :) comes with a decent length rail on top of it.

Hoping itll fit without any modifications, its for the 870 afterall.

Will post pics once the shotgun arrives :D

I hope you dont run into the same problem, but the front of that rail wont work on mine because there is only 2 mounting screw holes on the top of my receiver and there both to far back for the front of that rail to mount to.
870 and grizzly mag must not be exactly the same.:bangHead: oh well, now i no to look at the details befor i buy 870 parts.
 
Hmm on the high tube stock from mesa, the rail attaches to the stock itself at the back and rests on the receiver using a "receiver saddle", so there are no screws that go into the actual receiver of the gun.

how does the saddle receiver stay in place when firing?:confused:
 
There's a notch on on the top of the saddle piece which pops into a hole on the rail that it comes with.

the rail is then secured with two screws at the rear on the stock adapter itself. so no screws are on attached to the receiver itself.

I'm probably going to leave the rail off until I pick up a red dot sight or something for it :)

i have the Mesa Leo stock adapter and i like it, but i like that set up to. i cant decide wich i like better? :cool:

Yes, they can be replaced. They are rivited in place. It's possible to remove and replace one, just restaking the origional rivit. (The same rivit holds both the ejector and spring.)

However, if the rivit needs to be replaced, the existing hole is undersized for the standard Remington part. The frame would need to be drilled out for the new part.

Got my grizzly mag today! Thanks CanAm! I put five rounds through it no problem, tough to eject after you shoot, really gotta reef back on the foreend to get them out. This was with cheap winchester tho (I am used to a Mossberg 590A1 that ate everything haha). After a couple hundred rounds of break in I am hoping it will be smooth like butter, taking it apart and greasing it up can't hurt either.

BTW guys...no rails on top. Fortunately my sights look pretty solid, indexing is close enough to perfect to fool me

I'll try to get some pics

Tear it down and do a thorough cleaning then cycle the action a bunch of times. It'll smooth out quite nicely.

I'm having a problem with the magazine putting too much pressure on the action release mechanism and preventing it from locking the bolt. I tried adding a slight bend so it hugs the receiver but it still catches every once in a while. Maybe a few hundred rounds will smooth that out too.
