grizzly shotguns

The 15" version is 568mm from barrel to receiver.

Hm 22.3 inches, I think that may put it at about one inch short of being NR with a butler creek folder. I'll have to measure the thing tonight, thanks for that.

I wonder if it might be easy to just perma-weld an one-inch metal thingy to the back of the folder that will make it NR, or would that modification somehow make it illegal.

Ok so if the receiver and barrel is 22.3 inches long, and to be non-restricted it has to be 26 inches OAL, your pistol grip needs to be 3.7 inches long. Can't believe I'm looking forward to measuring something and being happy that it's less than 4 inches for once in my life

If anyone is at home right now and wouldn't mind measuring the top part of a butler creek folder it would be cool, hopefully it's not 3.5 but I think there's hope it could work. If so, I'm placing my order tonight

Ok so boba fette in the general discussion board measured the butler creek folder, it's 3 5/8 inches. This means theoretically a Grizzly with a sling plate adaptor and a butler creek folder should be NR if you get a 15 inch version. This could be an expensive experiment and I hope that inward moulded forward grip doesn't hang up on the butler creek stock like it does on a standard 870express trololol

+1...what's going on? Mine (12.5 w/ghost sights not mag) will choke on the 3" shells (feeding and extracting). I had to take the SG apart and lube the crap out of it and cycle a bunch of times but it does the 2 3/4" fine now. My older one ran fine on either out of the box (same model but with bead sight). This new batch seems MUCH tighter fit together than the older one I had. I'm trading this one with my son (who got my older one) as he doesn't use 3" shells at all.

whats it doing if you don't mind me asking

edit: seems like it's just mine - others report smooth operation.

mine jams on every first round, and jams occasionally on the remaining shots as well. Seems to happen because the magazine fits so loosely.

The mag sags under it's own weight about a 1/4" lower than it should be, as a result the first shell jams up against the metal flat spot below the chamber (right under the angled piece that is supposed to push the shell up).

Quite dissapointed, but hoping I just got a bad one. Still waiting to hear back from CanAm and I'm sure they are still busy processing orders.

These pics show the play in the mag. First pic feeds normally, second pic jams. The position in the 2nd pic happens under it's own weight.

Will certainly try another good cleaning and greasing. In the meantime I can't trust this gun to feed on a fresh mag, which means for now, it's a piece of junk.

Have you heard from CanAm on this?

Yeah it appears their first response went to my junk folder which was why I was still waiting. I'm going to get it out to the range this weekend and try their suggestions, if I can't get it going I'll be sending it back.

For the record I have nothing bad to say about CanadaAmmo or the grizzly - was just asking if anyone else had issues. I have edited my post as to not scare anyone off!

that is weird, 2 different mags? I just checked mine and it doesnt hang low, but the 1st shell occasionally gets stuck in the same place you described.

a good slap tilts it up where it needs to be

What suggestions were made to correct the problem? I have the occasional misfeed as well.

basically just a really good slap when seating the mag, and I'm going to try a little extra lubricant as well. to be honest I'm not sure if it's going to solve my issue based on how loose the mag is, but I'm going to get it out to the range and try.

12.5 barrel works just fine for skeets. Just as good as my friends 11-87 26 inch barrel (28 maybe). It was fun fun fun!! Very swingable haha. I have one low hanging mag but it works good still usually (the one it came with actually. The three I bought seperate worked fine).

I Just got it and I am very happy sofar. I ran a bunch of my crappy snap caps through it and not one hang up even tryed with the first round in a bad position and not a prob with any of the mags yet...but real shells will tell the real tale.

Tossed my fore grip on it, a little clean, oil job and ready to go! Hope it works well in the bush, Oh and ya it's fricken heavy!

Thanks CanAm!
