Dear Johnylo,

It has been well tested with the GSG MP5, and AK47 (mag body design) (They are also Prohib right now) they have been working on the feed lips for the 10/22 for a while and it has been well tested. It's made to work with the Ruger 10/22 and SR 22 as that is what they designed and manufactured to work in. We will be getting a Canadian only version as well as it will be slightly different from the original design as it is made exclusively for the Canadian Market.

Did you ever find out if these have plastic or steel feed lips? I re-read the entire thread but never saw your answer to the question.

If, as you say, they are welded shut, then if one single 22 round goes sideways, then quite possibly the whole mag will go in the garbage, or worse yet, somewhere else since throwing live ammo is not good to toss in the garbage. Can you confirm if the front plate, or something like that, is removeable, so we can maintenance the spring/feed path? If the order has not yet been built, perhaps there is time to modify the order to allow for maintenance.

That's a good question. Will you be able to break the mag drum down to clean it and fix jams if it's welded?
 
Hello All,

Thank you for all of the questions and comments regarding the release of this magazine. We are all very patiently waiting for the pre-production model to be shipped to us for RCMP approval. We hope to see its arrival before the New Year. With regards to the specifications of the magazines, we are under the impression that they are a steel feed lip and that they do have a removable front panel to deal with any jamming issues. More information will be provided as it becomes available, we are as excited about these new magazines as everyone else is. Upon its approval we will be providing a full detailed description, pictures and video of the magazines in action in a Ruger 10/22.

Thank you once again for your patience, as we all know bringing a new product to market is not as easy as we would all wish for.

Why do you need RCMP approval to begin with? To the best of my recollection, there is no basis in law for you to get RCMP approval. Perhaps, you could enlighten us on this? Aside from the obvious fact that it's a rimfire magazine and will be marketed with rifles in mind and not handguns.

The RCMP wants to look it over to make sure its only for the ruger 10/22 they don't want it getting into the colt model or the mp 15-22 which they restricted the magizine limit.
 
If only CDN firearm law was that simple. Google what happened to the Ruger 25rnd mag that is now prohibited simply for Ruger stating it is also designed for the charger pistol.
Wouldn't it be great if the Conservative Majority party revise the law with either reasonable classification by RCMP or better yet a competent organization d:h:
