GSG-16 Clarification of NR Status

There seems to be only one difference in BL and IRG stories. Who called the RCMP?

IRG says it was someone else. It certainly wasnt them and as they were already importing and there was NR chold entry in the FRT, I suggest that they are being honest or thdy were misinformed.

BLS has a reason to lie. To protect themselves. But setting that aside for a minute BLS could be telling the truth or overtly lying.

Looking at probabilities there is a 100% chance of no ill intent on the part of IRG but there is a chance (I can not determine how large) that BL does have something shady going on.
Follow the money.

I guess now that we have opened pandoras box it is worth a response.

First, I would like to say we have never criticized or bad mouthed another dealer or Manufacturer, nor would we ever. Our post was factual, it was not meant to stir the pot, it was there to address an issue that was of concern.
Should we have not received that phone call from the RCMP I would not be writing this.

We did not call out Blueline, nor was their name mentioned during that call. I know this to be the case because I was the one who personally received the call from the RCMP.

I was enlightened to the fact that another exporter had reached out to the BC COF and had implied there were differences in the two platforms and the ATI variant was not the same. The word prohibited was used.
You can imagine this phone call coming as a complete surprise given that we received NR clearance on the rifle on Aug 1, 2019.

On March 12, 2019 both the Blue Line and ATI GSG-16 rifles were prohibited.

IRUNGUNS submitted a technical data package to SSFS and imported one rifle for further inspection should it be needed. We also obtained technical drawing and schematics on the rifle.

On Aug 1, 2019 we were advised that the ATI GSG-16 firearm was Non Restricted. One of our customers was the first in Canada to receive a GSG-16 as he was the first person who inquired about its admissibility.
He received the original firearm that was imported for the Technical Data Package. This firearm was not required for inspection due to the detailed information that was provided in the TDP.

It is perceived that obtaining an FRT or having a firearm classified is a life changing event, this process does not cost thousands or take years to do. It's the cost of the firearm and diligence in providing the right information. If that was indeed the case try submitting a new platform to the ATF, and afterwards, let us know your thoughts.

We made a post on CGN

August 1, 2019 at 3:02pm IRUNGUNS announced the introduction of the rifle.
On Aug 1, 2019 at 4:41pm Blue Line did the same.

This can be verified should you look at the original posts made by both Blueline and IRUNGUNS.

I can understand their frustration as we stole their thunder. Evidently, they were not aware we had also submitted a Technical Data package on the same rifle.

IRUNGUNS has taken its share of hits regarding this platform and bringing it to the Canadian market. Not only here in Canada but also in the US.
Never have we seen such hostility, its almost comical.

There are a lot of things that have gone unannounced since the NR version of this platform was made public.

Blueline was very vocal in their multiple voicemails and emails to ATI.
Blueline’s frustration even caused GSG in Germany to reach out to ATI to find out what going on.

It was stated IRUNGUNS had ruined the market, that we were selling the rifle way too cheap, furthermore it was strongly implied that we should be put on the DNS list as Blueline had a substantial investment and years of work into this.
I can attest to this as factual as I was also the one who took that call.

In closing,

We are here and will continue to bring happiness and joy to all firearm enthusiasts.

ATI/GSG prohib.
GSG/GSG NR...

Same gun...pretty much

IRG phones up and says wtf why is the ATI/GSG prohib and GSG/GSG NR...good question the guy says and stamps them both NR.

IRG starts slangin ATI/GSG...

BLS goes oh no! How are these not prohib anymore? We're losing money! *dials some dude in the depertment of stamping NR's or Prohib* "hey why isnt the ATI/GSG prohib?"

IRG gets a call from stampy guy "ya some dude importing GSG/GSG's just asked why the ATI/GSG isnt prohib no more"

IRG : makes uncessary post on CGN

CGN: goes wild

Sounds pretty good to me.

That helps some.

Quick question, were you sent the FRT with non-restricted status of the ATI GSG 16 on August 1? Or just a call? Wondering if the lab got confused themselves when inputting the frt into the system.

Exactly what I have been wondering. If we take both importers stories at face value then on one hand IRG receives a verbal NR status on the firearm while all along the actual FRT denotes a Prohib status. If thats the case that's a scary situation given the police would ultimately use the FRT to enforce the actual classification had they reason to do so? i.e the mystery person with the GSG-16

Same thing with Stag 10.... the "official" importer fought tooth and nails to ensure they can monopolize the Canadian market and made sure IRG don't get to ruin their big pay day that they have been waiting for.....even flew to Stag the next day to make sure no one ruins their plan..... this here with BL is just like that.... Fleecing canadian with high price on NR firearms at its best.

You got any proof of this? The time stamps don't agree with you

At this point im thinking there was some sort of clerical error at the RCMP in handling/updating the FRT files. I dont think IRG wouldve ever been able to sell, let alone import these guns without having obtained proper NR FRT documentation from the lab prior.

Youza.

U think it was gonna be higher?

Why is there always drama with this company?
I don’t know who did what when , but even if blue line did all the work , IRG saw an open door and walked through it because they could .

I mean , no smart business passes on a great opportunity period . Again I don’t know specific circumstances of who did what but I can certainly see the opportunity with essentially the same gun being NR and IRG having access to that gun
