Gsg stg-44 non-restricted rifle

Amish?! are you being sarcastic?...

No it was made by them by hand and shipped to Germany then they shipped back to the USA it costs more because they have to ship from the USA then back. That's how they did the first batch as a promotion type of deal now they just come in a cardboard box like every other firearm.

Not to get too far off topic here, but holy sh!t!!..

"If you’re a WWII history buff, this will absolutely blow your mind. The video below shows members of the Free Syrian Army who are fighting against the forces of Syrian “President” Bashar al-Assad that have stumbled upon a contrainer full of rifles. The rebel member who posted the video mistakenly claimed that they had found 5,000 AK-47s. Nope, turns out they stumbed upon 5,000 German WWII STG-44 rifles.
The Sturmgewehr 44 was the first assault rifle developed by Nazi Germany, how did so many end up in the Syrian desert? Who knows, maybe the Nazis imported them during the second world war. Maybe they found their way there via the black market. But if someone found a way to sell them to collectors the Free Syrian Army would be able to fund their efforts for quite some time!
Chances are these will be either used by the Syrian Rebels, or destroyed"

Damn this makes me want to cry...

Hi Ryan. I'm sure it's been asked or mentioned by numerous people in a number of threads...

Has there been any correspondence with GSG regarding different calibers of the STG-44? Are they willing to look into producing one in, say, 7.62x39? Just curious, keep the the good work!

They only make 22lr firearms at this time. I know marstar had one in the orginal caliber but it wasn't cheap and it wasn't cheap to shoot.

Maybe they made it to Syria the same way a handful of Panzer IV's made their way there many decades ago.

Yes, a darn shame... worth more on the market than as weapons. I doubt there's any Kurz ammo left around anyway. Maybe someone clever will trade them 1:1 for AK's ;)

It's pretty hard to find, but there is still some 7.92x33 around. East Germany used the Sturmgewehr into the 1960's, while the Yugoslavian Airborne use the Sturmgewehr right up to the early '80s. I've got what I suspect is some of East German manufacture.

Unfortunately GSG only produces firearms in .22lr. This is what they specialize in and they like to stick to what they are good at.

As for the wooden crates, they were produced for ATI in the US by the Amish and when the rifles were shipped from Germany to the US they were then put in crates at ATI and distributed. We will not be receiving the wooden crates as these were produced specifically for ATI, our rifles will be coming from Germany in the basic cardboard boxes.

Guys I Cleaned up the thread, Please keep this on-topic. We have been open and honest about the process and when we know more we will let people know.

its a trap!!!! hahaha Anywys from the gunblast reviews I am willing to wait as long as it takes for these. The crate option would have been nice but lets be real, I can build one in an hour if I was so inclined guys. This looks like a great little gun and since blueline is the dealer I will wait to hear from the "horses" mouth.

Not sure what the deal is with this gun (I'm a newbie on the forum) but is there anymore news on the GSG STG-44 making its way to Canada? I don't mean to pester but it sounds like I want one about as badly as everyone else here. I might even go the whole 9 yards and build a crate if we get them. I might even build a few others if anyone else wants them...
