Gsg stg-44 non-restricted rifle

This is just ridiculous now......

According to my email from ATI in the US it sounds like this gun is prohib.

Last time I posted on the topic my posts were deleted and I was infracted, so I want to be clear that I am not trying to do anything other than get some answers and address the rumours.

Dear ###### – thank you for your inquiry. Here is the factual situation regarding the STG-44 rifle in Canada.

First, ATI by both charter and contract cannot sell any firearms (of any type) in the nation of Canada. We are the exclusive importer of GSG products in the United States, but we have no impact or input regarding firearms sales (GSG or otherwise) in Canada. Blueline Sports has been designated (by GSG) as the exclusive importer for Canada.

Second, the information that we have received from both the CEO of GSG and our own compliance department, is that the STG-44 is illegal in Canada, with the exception of dealers who hold a specific type of firearms license (for military equipment). I hope this information helps. Thank you.

Call 1 800 731 4000 speak to the CFO ask them to look it up they can pull the system up Use 0 to get to the operator and see if they can pull the info. Just tell them your looking at bringing a rifle in from the US and need to know if it falls under a certain class or not before you import it. They're more then happy to look up any firearm you ask about.

The GSG STG-44 is currently illegal to sell in Canada because IT IS NOT YET CLASSIFIED.

END OF STORY!!!

If anyone wants to help, please call the FRT department and ask them to expedite the inspection process of the STG-44 in their possession. Calling and email any foreign distributors will not provide you any more information than we have provided in this thread.

Cheers,
Ryan

Damn I wish those bozos would lose their cushy jobs that WE pay for! How much time would it take any Gunnut to look at a new firearm, dismantle it, fire it a couple of time and then assign it the next number on the Dumb FRT list? A few hours at most??? WTF are they doing over there???? Looking for concealed full-auto inducing unicorn eggs possibly hidden in the stocks by evil mutants, using X-ray machines, MRI and golden tweezers to make double sure nothing is amiss?????

This is absolutely laughable now. The mere fact that Blue Line can't or won't get in contact with anyone in charge at the FRT lab and demand to know when this firearm will be classified is outrageous. If it's taken +/- 2 years now to get no where, how is waiting even longer going to improve the situation? I guess I just don't get it.

I sincerely doubt they have much say in the matter. If it's anything like what I've seen, the CFC has probably told them to back off or things will get worse for them.

Ok, I'll bite. What have you "seen" in regards to the classification process by the FRT lab? What direct experience do you have in such matters? Things will get worse for them? Are you serious? I don't know how it could possibly be worse under the circumstances. Do you seriously believe that they would actually say such a thing when it would be all too easy to record the conversation by either party? I think not.

I'm sure it will clear. The gooferment is just dragging their feet because it's a bit scary looking. Once they realize that's all it is, and is little more than a plinker, it will clear. Just wait a bit longer.

Guys, we are as eager as everyone to have these rifles approved and for sale on the Canadian market. As always we will keep everyone posted as we hear any updates.
