Gun Clubs in Toronto area

I live in toronto as well and I've been to target. Orono and aurora but at the end I chose silverdale, its about an hour 15 mins away from t.o but its worth driving, target is good but its only indoor and they ask you about 700 dollars to join.
Good luck

The Marksmen Club is next closest indoor club for me (I live in Markham). It's 1/2 the price (after about $200+ one time initiation fee). I let my Target membership expire due to air quality issues and the huge amount of walk-in noob traffic. Never heard of any accidents (which is expected at any range) at Target but letting noobs rapid fire spooks me or even just having one shooting next to me or a few stalls down every time I go just distracts me. Or when I let my 44 magnum rip, everyone stops and look around to see who is making the BOOM or flames. lol... Range B is not always open all the time but when it gets too busy, Range B fills up with noobs too.

At marksmen, hardly anyone takes a second look at who is shooting 44 magnum. Same with OGSC... It's business as usual... Marksmen is way smaller but it's never packed even on Sunday club hours so far. I usually shoot during odd hours and I find myself all alone. 24/7 is key. $350 is pretty steep but being able to shoot any time I want is priceless. Alas, i haven't gone in almost 3 months due to lack of shooting itch and time. 45 mins drive each way or (80km drive both ways adds up when it comes to these bloody high gas prices). I reload and cast so ammo costs less than gas used to get there.

Some of the walkin no pal people at target are questionable, once I saw a group of walkin guys with no pal that looked like they were there to practice for their next drive by! LOL

Haha! Kal1360... Just for the record, when I say the word "noob", I mean people with no PAL. Noobs at a normal gun club are cool in my books. They're just not the same type of noobs I see at Target. lol... Being surrounded by noobs at Target every time I go just don't feel right. Noobs out numbering members = no good in my books.

The lead taste in your mouth is likely gun powder. I shoot pure lead I find that some powders taste sweet and others do not. I thought it was lead at first too and got concerned too.

oh yeah rtangri. I agree. I was a once a noob too like everyone else that started. But I'm a regular noob, not like most of those at Target. Comedian Kal just summed it up. That was pretty funny. lol

If you can afford it, it's a nice area of town.

You're just a quick walk or bus ride from the Yonge subway line to get downtown, but also very close to campus. And it's a VERY safe neighbourhood.

Be warned that a lot of things tend to be pricey in that area, so be prepared to spend a bit more in local shops, or go a bit further away to go shopping.

I'm looking for a really nice outdoor club that does sporting clays and trap and perhaps has a couple of rifle/pistol ranges as well. Since I moved to Toronto a couple of years ago from Montreal, I don't have any friends in the GTA who are into shooting sports and have no idea about the local scene at all. In Montreal, for example, I used to spend a lot of time at a particular sporting goods store and knew about 2 clubs near the city that had beautiful clubhouses, well-maintained ranges and sporting clay courses, and most importantly a good group of people with which to share the fun.

I'd love to get referred to a reasonably close range where I could go on the weekends, meet like-minded folks, and enjoy a sport I grew up with again, now that I'm fairly settled in Toronto.
