Gun control officially useless ; AR15s as easy to make as pancakes.

The point with all this new technology IMHO again is, the current gun control efforts in Canada do little in preventing crime and injury to people. Why? Because the focus is on the firearm and not the person. This technology will improve and it will improve fast. Titanium is now being used as a material in 3D printing. Bad guys only need whatever they are printing to work once. Registration, classifications etc are useless.
Why are people hurting other people is the only question and issue the government needs to focus and spend some money on. But of course, the lefties will continue to scream and holler and the government will react to whoever they feel is making the most noise. It's sad that so much money can be wasted to appeal to a few self centered morons who don't feel the least bit remorseful for being responsible in steering these funds in the wrong direction. If Wendy and her minions ever have an epiphany and wake the hell up, we might actually see some forward movement in crime prevention.

Making a lower for an AR 15 isnt at all like making a gun

Actually, yes, it is. Please get a clue before commenting.
AR15 lowers are what is legally considered to be the firearm and which must be registered. It is the only part of the gun that ir regulated and for which you need an RPAL for purchase and possession.

So really what is pointless is your contribution here, because you clearly dont have a clue what youre talking about.

That and 3D printers the 'powers that be' may want to consider actually dealing with the criminal use of 'things' as opposed to trying to regulate the heck out of inanimate objects!

I believe pigs will fly before politicians become smart enough to realize that criminals are the problem, not inanimate objects.

If you make AR15 receivers in Canada, without a license, even in polymer, wouldn't one be one of those criminal fellas?

As noted you can legally do it if you have a PAL and register the lower once it is functional. Even without a PAL you are only guilty of arbitrary paperwork crimes and that is hardly the same thing as being a violent criminal.

SO what do you need to buy an upper in Canada ??? I stand corrected, this is starting to sound really stupid on the Governments part :sok2

Why is it stupid? Or what part seems stupid? All other guns are the same, there is one part that is considered to be the "firearm" (typically the receiver on rifles and shotguns and the frame on handguns) and the rest are simply pieces of metal. The only thing somewhat unique about the AR is that it is made to easily exchange uppers where most firearms have fitted parts and/or permanently installed barrels, etc. that preclude swapping all the bits around the way people do on AR's.

lol wow that is really crazy, learn something new everyday on here!

What part is crazy? That gun control is pointless and ineffective or that the government wants to control large portions of your life?

I suppose that makes all the guns you can eat. Chocolate Christmas tree ornaments, and it pays for itself. I assume it is food safe.

Actually, frozen chocolate would fire one shot...

If you already have an AR-15 lower, you can make a mould from it. That's interesting.

I suppose there will be Mould Control legislation.

Chocolate would be freakin' awesome! Could you imagine the poopfest if someone were to make and hand out chocolate versions at an anti rally. Then as the "men" swoon and the "women" faint everybody who got one takes a bite! Nom nom ---- guuuuuuunnnnnssssss

Some more inflammatory evil thoughts to ponder - 3D printing is going to become commonplace and lower receivers machined for full auto are a no-no, but.... What if someone had the files to print one but didn't? They have the machine and the capability but they don't actually produce the part. Is that breaking any laws? Then, as someone pointed out, what if someone 3D printed a mould to cast polymer full auto lowers but instead of using polymer, they cast them out of hard candy. (cooked sugar) thus producing parts that are identical to unregistered illegal parts but edible and fragile? I wonder what if any charges could be laid? Unregistered restricted (or prohibited), replica, being a ####? Much like the people that baked cookies to look like phones to annoy the distracted driving types, I wonder how much of a ####storm this would cause.

I am still trying to picture two guys in a jail cell.
"What are you in for?"
"Making chocolate."

I do love the idea of handing out chocolate lowers at a rally.
Who would they arrest? Anyone who develops acne?
