Hi folks. I have a new retriever on the way (1 more month!), and I was looking for a little help on the name. I would like an interesting gun name or something related to hunting. Most of the typical gun names like Ruger etc. have already been taken by the breeders themselves, so I am looking for something a little less common. Any ideas would be appreciated. If anyone is looking is looking for a Lab.....these are beautiful dags (w w w.eromit.com/eromit.html). By the way, the dog is a male. Thanks:)

Nice looking pup! A few years ago we got the same except different colour. My wife & I were very undecided on a name but our Daughter came up with one for her. Tikka.

I've had GS's previously and found them to be great on upland birds but thought I'd try something a little different this time. No regrets:D. Spoiled her rotten, 90% pet and 10% hunting dog and a great companion.

Dash, Dice and Dog.
You don't want to confuse him nor give him an inferiority complex by naming him CAT.
Stick with a one syllyble name, and nothing that can be rhymed with something bad.
Had a dog on the farm that was called "PUP" before we could think of a name and it stuck.

Gunner is my old chocolate Lab,and Boomer is his slightly younger buddy. When he was being trained the trainer advised a 2 syllable name . Mur

+1 on the one sylyball name quicker to say when commanding the dog when hunting mine was duke ,taz is good too
