Gun Engraving

According to my AI assistant:
Caesar Guerini shotguns are known for their hand-finished engravings, which are considered a combination of art and function. The engravings are created by master engravers from the Italian engraving house Bottega C. Giovanelli
Engraving house created the design with SW, execute the "engraving" with computerized cutter, then cleaned it up by hand. Oh well, more tastefully done than some I guess.

My brother has a CG.Looks good from a distance but up close……it’s like looking at some AI generated girl. It’s perfect but the longer you look at it the less good it looks.

Hey. Don't slag my gun, man.

lol. I’m only slagging the CNC machine John. Seriously though, I’m glad they are doing it. They are making an effort to create beautiful guns for a somewhat reasonable cost. That amount of engraving done on a gun in Canada probably costs more than the gun. And CGs aren’t cheap.

No worries, James. Back to your computer-generated girlie pics.
Those six-fingered ones are hot! Like, the computers understand that humans are partial to Disney characters with 4 fingers and said, "hey, let's do wrong number of digits! They love that stuff."

Engravers , are there any professional (rifle) craftsmen/persons in Canada?
Anyone have work done by them as examples ?
...skwerl
You could contact Lemieux Armuriers through their website. No first-hand experience but I recall some discussions about them in the forum so hopefully someone can tell us more.

I only have one gun that I consider engraved. Laser etched chaser is not engraving in my opinion. It’s decorative at best. I have a lovely 687 EELL Diamond pigeon but it’s not really engraved but rather made to look like it!! This is my only truly engraved gun. Perazzi MX8 Mirage by Angelo Galliatzzi. Most of the real engravers have passed like Heidi(RIP)). True artisansIMG_1419.jpegIMG_1422.jpegIMG_1424.jpegIMG_1421.jpegIMG_1420.jpeg

i have two caesar's magnus ltd 20 ga and 12 ga matched sn
good guns over priced
the thing is all magnus carry the same patterns
i like the guns and i shoot them well but if they had no engraving and sold for 3500$ instead of 8500$ that would suit me just fine

Funny, when I purchased my CG magnus new in 2016ish it was 3500$, I definitely wouldn't pay the $8400 for them they are asking now

Glad to see I'm not the only with mixed feeling about laser engraving
- On one hand, I like shinny-engraved things... and laser engraving makes them more affordable
- On the other hand, I like art (and artisan) and get probably as much enjoyment from looking at it than I get from knowing a very skillful individual did the work...

Luckily for me ( I guess ) I don't think I'm ready to spend new-car-$ for a new-laser-engraved shotgun...

Its amazing that what took days to do,..can now be done in Seconds with a Lazer Engraver.
I have seen some new modern engraving that looks fantastic. man how times have changed.
