A buddy just gave me a source for gun grips. Google Thailand Gun Grips, sit back and be amazed .....

Any kind of exotic wood you want, mother of pearl, etc. Reviews On the S&W forum criticize some of the wood as not being well aged, the medallions are not up to par and the hardware is not really all that hard. Others are quite happy with their grips.

I've got a set of Craig Spegel K frame grips that I won and I'd stack them up against any makers product. I've also got factory S&W grips for my K and J frame RB's and while serviceable, they are not in the same league as the Spegel product. I wouldn't be surprised if they were made in the Far East.

I've also seen Hogue wooden grips that evoked a "Meh" response.

Seen the Thai grips before. They're hand made, so not 100% perfect compared to factory made grips (but really good). They have all kinds of neat, exotic woods with different grains and colours. The one I've seen in person looked fantastic, but fans if the super thin grips might not appreciate them. If you're patient, you can see all kinds of different Thai made grips on flea bay ... Lots of choices, patterns, exotic woods.

I purchased a set of grips from Costa Rica. They are made from Cocobolo Rosewood Root. They look fantastic & fit perfect on my 1911. I'm waiting for a white pearl set from Thailand right now for my Norinco NP29. Hope they are as nice as the ones from Costa Rica.

I have bought several sets of ebay Thai grips. Some were excellent. Some did not fit. And one set were for an entirely different pistol.

The bad deals were given 100% refunds immediately and i kept the grips.

I bought several different styles on ebay. Usually for less than $25

This style has a smooth grip on one side and finger grooves on the other.

I'd love to buy Canadian if I could find them at a reasonable price
My previous post was not to be rude, I'm just one of those people who think we're all going to end up being dragged down by off shore companies, instead of these people move up. The cost of materials are the same it's the labour that makes us non-competitive. I've made a few sets of grips over the years and it's not a 5 minute job by hand. If someone used a CNC to do them, how would you ever recover the cost. I get why these grips are a good deal, but I'd far sooner like to see someone here make them and be able to survive.

...this was my sarcastic point.

Considered them for my GP100 but I ended up with a Hogue G10 set.
Some of those thai grips look really well done.

Just a quick question. When you, not me,buy everything offshore what exactly are we going to do for jobs or a source of extra income?

We'll live on the Universal Basic Income that the Trudeaupian government will implement. (But only until the China's communist government calls in the loans with which ours is paying for these vote-buying scams and our organs are harvested to make the payments.) Hey, look, there's a cool new smart phone on the market, I want one, I need one, I gotta get one ...

Here is how you shop for grips Thai style in Bangkok.

Just like a bakery but the trays are full of grips. All made on site.

(pardon the glare and reflection. it was an impossible shot)
