Gun Locks for My Pistol Collection

These are the pistol locks that i use, They free up space in my pistol safe for more guns. The old fashioned trigger locks are too bulky.

These things actually block the chamber and dont even allow you to pull the slide back.

Why not just put them in a gun safe?

No need for trigger locks

Why not just read my post ?
I don't have trigger locks, these are internal CHAMBER locks which work better and cannot be broken off as easily.

PS there are lots of people on here that don't use trigger locks. It's an extra measure of safety and everyone's own personal choice.
You are not legally required to use locks, but then again you are not legally required to be intelligent to own handguns either, so why let extra smart people have them too ?

Visualock

I ordered one a month ago just to see how it would fit.
Still waiting.
I also asked them if it was possible to have one key fit
various locks. You don't want to have to fumble with ten keys (or more).
They did not reply to that.

I have a few of these and would like more. I haven't been able to order for over a year. Their web security has expired and while the page is still up for some strange reason, you can't complete an order. Email doesn't work.

What the heck!
I just see something red sticking out of the barrel.
No trigger lock.
What gives?

It doesn't have to physically lock the trigger to be a legal lock. Just has to prevent from being fired.

The regs say "such as a trigger lock" if memory serves.

Try a trigger lock on a Win Mod 94. Falls right out when you work the lever :) I use a short cable lock wrapped around the stock and lever for that one (when required).

If you can get a cable lock of the right length, run it down the barrel ending with the lock at the muzzle. Makes for flat storage in a case.

The Club brand of combo trigger lock is flatter than the Masterlock combo lock. I bought a bunch of them on EBay.

I just move one digit so I can open the lock real quick when unpacking the range box.

Buying by the dozen on Ebay is cheap.

The locks are terrific and I think the best and safest. It uses a cartridge shaped slug that sits in the chamber. I insert those from a magazine the way you would load normally. Then a spring loaded modular steel rod goes from the muzzle to that slug and rotating the key locks the tip into the slug. The red knob tells you the gun is totally safe. Once locked, you can pull the trigger on the slug for dry firing but the slide will not operate and the gun can't be loaded. The keys are common to all locks so I have several spares in case of loss. This is a great product. Once you get the knack of locking and unlocking it is fast and takes no space. Defeating the lock would be very difficult. You can only go so far on the Visualock site before the process stops. I can't understand why they leave it up but you can't order.

The cool thing with the Omega locks is that if someone was to get access to your pistols the the chamber lock is invisible so that the unauthorized user wouldt be able to figure out why the slide doesn't open because there is no obvious lock mechanism visible to try and defeat. Brownells stocks them as well.

Thanks for the post. The principle is similar to the Visualock. The only thing missing is the Red Knob indicator that is a feature of the Visualock. I'll definitely by a couple of these things to try.
