Gun post vs gun nutz

I've been taken on a WTB on the GP , my own fault .
Still leery with online dealing , just be careful
and proceed with caution.
Don't send out what you can not afford to lose, easy to say.

EE is as secure as it gets..

I bought an 1895 on #######, face to face, no problem. Tried to buy a CZ - the guy told me it was the wrong gun for me and he wasn't gonna sell it. Ad was still up a month later, no idea what was up with that. Bought the gun from a local shop instead

I find the EE is more of an auction site now. Something gets posted at a reasonable price and you send an I'll take it PM shortly after the post is created. The seller will eff around with PM's for a few hours then say sorry it is taken. Yes - you can see poster activity.

I have gotten some great deals on GP with none of that crap.

Each to their own. Gunnutz is my go to but ####### has been very beneficial for me. Easy enough to sort out the scammers.

Signed up to ####### several months ago to clear out my surplus’s ammo. Wound up selling off four Enfields a shotgun and a lot of ammo. Thirty plus positive sales, mostly FTF, since summer 2021. NO. complaints.

Can you read posts on gun post like here and get to know many of the guys into what you are that you sell and buy from prior to even looking at their involvement in the EE
That is huge to me and something that makes the EE 100% better than gun post
I have seen quite a few now on the hunting sites I chime in on now screwed on gun post. Even seen pics one of my guns I posted here for sale there
It is not for me but if it is your cup of tea be very careful
To each their own

I have sold on Gun Post in the past without any incident but I feel that CGN EE offers a level of security and a certain comfort. The admin and mods do a good job at keeping things on track here.

I find it interesting that almost any ad on GP will also be on EE at the same time. The GP is easier to use and post pictures and I like the fact I know where the person is located. Shipping is a big deal, especially now that Canada Post has added a fuel surcharge, and it is very irritating to have to ask where the person is located. On the other hand, I like the EE bump up system and the rifle categories.

Scammers are everywhere I would not blame GP. The biggest scammer i ever found was Oshawa GunWerks.

EE if for hardcore gunners, GP is for the masses. Both have strengths and weakness.

I had one of those on there as well, a shotgun. We agreed and then he dropped off the face of the earth but the ad is still up. Leaves a creepy feeling.

The good thing about ####### is that you can set your search distance parameters , and buy cash and carry face to face . Everyone in this area seems to be using ####### now if they want to buy or sell a firearm .

I'll happily sell on GP. Because nothing happens until I've received the funds in an etransfer. Buying......I'll be a little more cautious.

Fully agree with you.

However the ability to sell my stash of .303 British ammo and target buyers locally to meet and sell it I couldn’t do on the EE. My posts there are clear I’ll only drive to meet if deposit on item made which avoids no shows.

Old shotgun slugs, SSG and the like that would have sat on a Gunshow table for years sold literally in minutes.

Understand but I have not done a face to face in 25 years on a firearm
I find I cannot get what the stuff is worth locally and it seems they always try to low ball you but don't sell ammo either especially vintage stuff. I have a sweet spot in the old locker for all of that :) and calipers I no longer have I just give to friends that can use it.
Plus built up some good contacts here guys I can just send a Pm and say hey I am listing this and know you are into them and it never makes the EE. Same time all of my guns are vintage so a bit different market

I joined here when I had to reduce the herd because of my age and never planned to post well 14,000 posts later and a ton of stuff gone the EE has been a wonderful find for me even if I have not used it now in about 5 years.
Well 2/3 now gone and down to the guns I am keeping and don't need any more with 86 left until I die soon 84 after Justin takes my AR's :( but sure keep an eye on it and the prices now. And pray Justin doesn't take the few handguns I kept

As far as components I could stock 6 shotgun guys for 10 years so again need nothing and enough rifle stuff to do me until I die.

My god the EE in 2022. Guns I would have sold for 1000 4 years ago and been very happy are now selling for 2000
Cheers
