In the US you easily pick up a used firearm for 50%-70% of the new price (70% if at a retailer). At US gun shows they compete with each other to sell their guns and are happy to trade etc.
In Somalia you can get an AK for a couple cartons of smokes. Move there if you want. In the mean time, compare apples to apples. Your idea of valuation means nothing to anyone but yourself and anyone that specifically asks you for your opinion. Whatever someone can sell something for is what sets it's value to the purchaser.

No, gun shows have some deals, but it's not a bargain basement clearign house. There are more firearms in the US than in Canada. Thus there ar emore used firearms in the US than in Canada. More supply = lower prices.
