I'm new to the AR platform. I've got a PSA 16" carbine on order. It's a flat top w/o a rear sight. It appears from the pic to have a front sight.
I eventually will need an optic but until then I hoping to attach an aperture sight onto the rail. The one in question is from Marstar. At least
I think it's a sight--it's not clear from the pic whether a GI-syle rear sight is included on this detachable carry handle, and they don't actually
mention it on the site: https://www.marstar.ca/dynamic/product.jsp?productid=75801
IDK whether I'd need to order a rear sight, or not.
It says 'NcS' so I'm assuming it's of Chinese manufacture.

NcS is NcStar for sure.

What I've looked up on line it has dual apertures on it.

Can see better view of it there.

I had one and it was fine, has dual apertures like a standard carry handle. Pretty hard to screw up a carry handle, even for the Chinese

Don't waste your time with the carry handle if you're going to install a optic later. Look for a good rear sight like DD,LMT GG&G or Troy. You'll still be able to use it after you buy your optic.

Yeah, you make a valid point, Mova, but IDK what all those initials mean. I told you--I'm new to the AR platform.
Could you provide some lynx, or at least the words behind the letters? :0 ]
thx
btw-- I like the 'retro' look the carrying handle suggests. It's easily removable when I go to the optic, and I'll eventually have a BUIS.
btww-- I compete in a monthly "Military Shoot" where it's 'Iron sights only', so I want to be able to swap easily without losing my zero.

Shop around, those are usually $25-$30...or put a WTB in the EE, tons of folks with Nork AR's probably looking to sell the carry handles.
Canam has them $10 cheaper https://www.canadaammo.com/product/detail/ncstar-ar-15-detachable-carry-handle/

Daaaaaghh! Too late! I just fingered my mousey to order it. Ach, I just want something temporary so I can get some rounds downrange while I'm shopping
for a more permanent arrangement.
Gee, $39 sounded pretty cheap, until they added the shipping and the taxes!
Went from being in the 30s to being in the 50s real quick!

You can also get cheap Leapers ones from amazon . ca

I put a rear one on my JR carbine after deciding that I hated the plastic magpul stuff.

NC Star have one that's identical to a standard carry handle dual apeture but, without the actual carry handle.

Co-witnesses fine, slightly lighter than a carry handle and more sturdy than a flip-up BUIS.
